    Football League deadline update

Why would ACL prepare a revised CVA (the job of the administrator not those owed money) when, from what we are told, they stated they would accept the CVA proposed by Appleton if SISU / Otium agreed to 2 pre-conditions? The contents of the CVA don't appear to be the issue here, the real issue...

    Football League deadline update

Think you're making it more complicated than it is. From what we have been told ACL said they would agree to the CVA proposed by Appleton (with no changes to it) as long as 2 conditions were agreed to, those conditions are widely believed to be no longer pursuing the JR and agreeing to a 10 year...

I think that's a touch misleading. The two modifications couldn't be included in the CVA but they could have been agreed to by SISU / Otium as a side deal concluded prior to the signing of the CVA. Its generally believed the two modifications were dropping the JR and agreeing to a 10 year...

    Club Statement

I would be happier if I knew the full amount was in Escrow and that this arrangement was acceptable to the FL. We need them to explain what has changed, we've established the payment isn't rent or part of the rejected CVA so why having said Otium must pay £590K is there now doubt, if there even...

    Football League deadline update

Not at all, although I would not object to further scrutiny of the administration process carried out by Appleton. Your statement made it sound as if the rejection of the CVA gave no option than to liquidate which is incorrect, it is one available option and it was Appleton who chose that course...

Liquidation doesn't have to follow the rejection of a CVA. The administrator has other options such as coming back with an improved CVA from either the existing preferred bidder or a new preferred bidder.

Good to see they're making sure they fans are kept informed and not left wondering what the hell is going on!

    Leon Clarke

Crawley ground is OK. Pretty small, probably around 5K but relatively modern. I imagine if you've been told you're not in the managers plans and they're sending you out on loan you don't have a lot of choice. Can't imagine it would go down well if he refused to go.

    Football League deadline update

It's not a legal matter is it? If the company being liquidated legally had to pay ACL an amount why would the FL get involved? Non payment would be illegal and ACL would have a course of action to pursue should that amount not be paid. The payment is a condition for the issuing of the golden...

sisu: 1 week till we hear the truth

Its a very fine balance. The problem you have is we can't operate in a bubble. If other clubs are overspending and we are working to break even how do we ever field a competitive team? We possibly could in L1 if we were back at the Ricoh as we'd have bigger crowds than most other teams but if...

sisu: 1 week till we hear the truth

I think for a large section of the fanbase you are correct, although you'd hope with everything we've been through in the future we'd be wary of overspending. Most football fans don't have an interest in the finances, they want to turn up every week, pay their money and see a team that is...

sisu: 1 week till we hear the truth

I'm not sure that it will be quite the black and white answer people are expecting. For a start we're dealing with the legal technicalities of something here so you could end up with a verdict going one way on a technicality where all the evidence presented indicates that morally, for want of a...

    Football League deadline update

The FL have used clubs GS as leverage before. They did it with Leeds when they were threatening legal action, not pursuing the action was a condition of their GS being issued for the following season. They also did it with Portsmouth. They told the administrator they would only consider...

    Football League deadline update

If they are disputing that they have to pay £590K they could have placed that amount (the maximum they would have to pay) in escrow so that the FL knows it is there whilst they come to an agreement over the exact amount. I would be a lot more comfortable with the situation if the club confirmed...

    Football League deadline update

If you remove the emotion with it being our club and look at it objectively you would say the most logical course of action would be expulsion. In simple terms Otium were granted the golden share on condition they make a payment of £590K to ACL. The deadline for that payment has now passed...

    Football League deadline update

Don't see why it would be difficult. The FL told Otium they would issue them the Golden Share on the condition that they paid ACL £590K by the end of this month. It appears they haven't done so and have therefore breached the conditions set by the FL. Having done that why would it be difficult...

    Football League deadline update

These are the two key points for me. If Appleton has missed something, either a payment made or liability for a debt, then that is his fault and it will be him SISU need to go after if they have a complaint. The FL payment is not rent, they may have arrived at the figure based off the proposed...

    Murphy departure draws nearer

One or two players complaint about how their contract renewals were handled can be put down to sour grapes but the number of times this happens to us indicates something isn't being done correctly. Didn't TF or ML recently admit it was the club at fault over the King renewal? Don't see why...
