Respectfully disagree. For a start those bedding in for a third of a season last year are now well honed. If the 8 out at least 3 had 0 impact last year. All 8 in are feasible starters.

What needs to be remembered is that in loads of deadline days and transfer windows gone by we’d have been stripped of our assets.

Palmer doesn’t need replacing. We’ve replaced O’Hare with Rudoni. Hamer? How far back should we go. We’ve had a full season without him. Is Torp invisible? Can Andrews not develop? Etc etc

Football is a business. We have a patchy performer in Palmer whose contract expires in a year. If someone offers £1m he’s gone - replacement pending or not - and quite rightly so.

Yes, hopefully. I don’t think it’s a loss of any significance at all and if we manage to get a fee it’s a work of genius. He doesn’t play in any of the positions Allen, Torp or Eccles plays and we are far better equipped in advanced positions than we’ve ever been.

Must admit I’m counting the retention of Sheaf, Wright, Van Ewijk, Sakamoto and Simms as a positive window anyway. We’ve added a class keeper, more forward options and one of the best attacking midfielders in the league in Rudoni. Anything tomorrow is a bonus.

Robins has obviously been trying to get rid as he knows full well he can get more for his money elsewhere. Palmer has talent but is simply not consistent enough in terms of end product.

It’s a fair point. If our academy is producing a mix of excellent talent that is hoovered up or those not to champ standard why have it. In the last couple of seasons we’ve not had anyone impact the first team.
