He's 18 and mainly been a Rochdale substitute; he's an investment for the future, not for now (unless it's an emergency). Keyboard teenagers having 'fun' slating for something to do.

Mid Week Games (RFC v CCFC & SWFC v WWFC)

As Rotherham are in form, and Wycombe are struggling, I'd be happy for both games to be called off, as it prevents them picking up points now and increases their fixture congestion. Obviously if games are played, I'd like a Wycombe win and a Rotherham/Cardiff bloodbath with a Cardiff win.

Maybe trying Shippers in the wingback role, in readiness for the Norwich game?

Left back / wing back against Norwich next Tuesday

Stick with wing backs and play Shippers there. Left footed, can get crosses in, and the role will force him to hold position.

Love it - I consider myself reasonably well educated and read a lot, but will confess as a youngster to having invented another word from the word misled, which on occasion, I would read as (sounding like) mysled, with me self defining as 'having cheated or tricked' - similar, but not exactly...

    Ostigard

Offer him £10k a week for 3 years, just the same as 1.5 m purchase. You could even increase that salary by 50-100%, as the cost would be spread, plus you'd have a huge saleable asset as he progresses.

What I like about him is that he relishes an old fashioned battle, looks like any duels are personal, and it is fairly evident that nobody is going to bully him. A bit of a giveaway is that I can't remember him smiling at an opponent, like a lot of players do. He's not out there do be your friend.

    Will we stay up ?

We need Walker to come back and stay fit. I have a feeling we may not see a fit Godden for the rest of the campaign, especially if we try and bring him back too soon. Feel sorry for him, and he would have made a huge difference to our effectiveness, up front.

    Will we stay up ?

what i have just looked at regarding the fixture list is that the last 5 games we face are likely to be against opposition that have nothing/little to play for. Millwall last game (unless they are fighting against the drop), Huddersfield, Barnsley, Stoke and Preston. By that stage of the season...

If you can't see that the players put in a shift, tried to win against a good team, and that it's a decent point, you need to have a word with yourself, or a reality check. I was proud of that performance. James' positional play is excellent and Da Costa looks to be a big plus.

It is how we deal with their wingers for me. Hoping Da Costa has another blinder, but a bit worried about him and Sam. Good luck to the lads today, regardless. Watford have a great set of players, but let's hope their new manager confuses the hell out of them. The first 90 minutes will be key imo.

They have picked 2 wingers and Deeney and Gray up front, so are going light in midfield. Attacking line up from them, but if we can control midfield it should be 3 or 4 - 1 to us (tongue firmly in cheek, with lucky underpants on!)

Because we might see a small investment pay off later, but we haven't got £500k to waste on a so so player, who isn't any better than Walker, who will be back in a week or two. Ready made Championship strikers cost more than we have.

I would have thought fitter than Rose, but MR/AV will know. Deeney is all about strength - no pace. It is their wingers who are more the danger.

Sorry guys, but I just thought I would let people have a thread for the difficult run of games, so that they can say things such as 'We've been sleepwalking into this....' 'I said ages ago that settling for draws isn't good enough'''' 'We didn't set up for a win....' etc, etc. It's a tough...
