    Championship thread 23/24

I said it matters that all the teams we play matter. Who we play at the top was the answer to your question was all.

    Championship thread 23/24

It's the championship. It doesn't matter if a team is 21st. We can still lose. The most important run is the one actually into the play offs. Which ours is very tough in comparison. We face 5 of the top six still. And whilst the other games are favourable we have won 6/18 I think away games. So...

You say when will people learn and then say the phrase 'must not lose'. Football doesn't work like that. Also our run in after march is probably the hardest out of our direct competitors. I'm not sure April could be much harder.

Match Thread Coventry City - Preston North End FC Match Thread - Friday 23rd Feb

He takes the lead in negotiations/has a big say when there is significant fees involved which you would expect. He of course lets the recruitment team/MR pick the players and just nays or yays I imagine

Match Thread Stoke City - Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 17th Feb

I don't think both cb's need to be ball playing tbf. He was great today, and he is good at getting his body in the way of things, and in the air. He makes mistakes, but I think he's a great signing, with big potential to develop for us.

    Things that annoy you

I have probably said it before on here. But middle lane fucking drivers. Drove to Birmingham airport this morning from Rugby, so 30 minutes on the M6 at 3AM... At least 40-50 vehicles doing it. Honestly can't wait for the day they create technology that can catch it. £100 lane for being 1 lane...

    Kelly

Sorry what? He's made 60 ish appearances in the champ for us.

    Kelly

Yes. Just like he clearly cares about Godden's from previous.

Think you are spot on. Lati wasn't signed to sit on the bench waiting for injuries so it feels like we are trying to pigeonhole him in at times when the games may not suit it. He's competent in multiple positions which is great for the team but not necessarily him. As much as some will...

    Kelly

Probably the fact that he has played 400+ games as a midfielder. Not the 20 that Lats has as a utility player there... Also based on the end of last season, where he was key to a team that finished in the play offs. He'll be gone in summer, either way but we should defo be utilising him more.

Match Thread Plymouth (A)- Wednesday 14th Feb

I actually thought Plymouth reminded me very much of us in our first season back in the champ. They carried a threat but looked vulnerable. Think they could progress well over next few seasons if they can keep their top players.

That's why he was meant to hold him up... He still had kitching and da silva behind, cb's get isolated at times, he wasn't hung out to dry. Diving in is what cost the goal, not his isolation on the right.

Match Thread Plymouth (A)- Wednesday 14th Feb

Not sure hung out to dry is right. As you say there is no excuse for diving in. He just needed to have a calm head and hold him up in that moment whilst the team got back. He will learn from it tho as I said last night, he's 22 he has to be allowed to make mistakes.

    Clean sheets

Keeping clean sheets is fundamental to being a successful team. What's the saying, attack wins you games, defence wins you titles. Robins has always prioritised being solid over expansive attacking football (not that we don't end up playing good football). Robins has said he needs time on the...

    Uber for Matt?

Godden is a good lower champ striker but not in this system/formation. We need more and he is in an awful run of form. It's a hard job as the striker in the formation, but we have what we have and we will just have to hope he can nick a couple between now and the end of the season. New...

    Clean sheets

They played 5 league games together consecutively in Jan/Feb without keeping a cleansheet. Pretty much half that run. It's a wider team issue not the CB pairing. I'm certain Robin's would love time on the trg ground to address it but they aren't getting any due to the run of games. Picking...

Match Thread Plymouth (A)- Wednesday 14th Feb

Agreed Grendel. Unbeaten in the league at home since October. They score goals, and as you say a number of key players missing, with a busy schedule. Happy with a point going into Saturday.

Oh for god sake 😂 he's 22 and learning. He made a rash mistake that's all. Fadz did that multiple times in in his first season with us.
