    New Stadium Announcement

Probably in better condition than the Ricoh pitch after the next couple of games!

I've re-read it and nowhere can I see where it says they need to sell or putting ACL up for sale. I do however recall lots of comments about not needing to sell and ACL being a business that is performing fantastically well. So we come back to the same point, did CCC offer SISU a 250 year lease...

I don't work for any of their sponsors or even live in the city and had 2 different people offer me free tickets, both of whom work for London based companies. It would be interesting to get a true figure of how many people actually paid to get in and of them how many paid full price.

    New Stadium Announcement

It was 2002 and apparently done in a matter of months. Basically between 2 seasons but with them having to relocate for a handful of games at the start of the season. That's pretty much all the info I've found apart from the fact that it cost £6.5m.

In your last post it wasn't impacting CCFC as they weren't the same supporters!

    New Stadium Announcement

Would the land really be £25m? Seems high to me. Of course it depends how quickly they want to build the stadium. Bournemouth completely rebuilt their ground, which is 12K capacity for under £10m (adjusted for inflation).

Is that a serious question? You don't see how a rugby club being dropped into the city and get over 20K of the local population attending there games impacts on attendances for other local teams?

Unlike you I don't see the loss of fans from CCFC and CRFC to a franchise rugby club as something to celebrate.

    Christmas truce?

Maybe there should have been one, to be honest I was living abroad for a lot of that time so you would know better than me if there was a lot of opposition locally. But the point remains objections could have been made at the planning stage and there was years between the stadium first being...

Where in black and white does it make any mention of needing to sell or putting ACL up for sale? It's just not there. Even if it was there for something such as moving in a rugby team from London I would expect a local council to consult with those it will impact on such as CCFC, CRFC and the...

    New Stadium Announcement

It would allow them to get a new smaller stadium in place very quickly and then as and when required it can either be expanded or the temporary stands be replaced with permanent stands. What they could do, as an example, is buy the land at Bermuda and put in one permanent stand containing the...

And there is exactly the problem. Wasps and CCC, as well as their new local supporters, claim no damage will be done to CRFC yet you are telling me it was full of kids who have a new hero and demand to go again, how many of those are now potential supporters of CRFC, or CCFC for that matter, who...

It was wasps themselves that over 90% of ticket sales were to CV postcodes, are you saying they were lying?

    Christmas truce?

The Ricoh hardly appeared overnight did it? What was it 98 or 99 when it was first announced with no building starting until 02 or 03, seems plenty of time for people to raise objections.

I have zero interest in rugby but totally agree with you Lee, why are these 20K plus not bothering to go and watch our own cities team. I have no interest in rugby or speedway but still feel pride when our teams do well, Wasps winning is meaningless to me, they could win everything going for the...

Latest Ricoh Arena legal action won't harm relationship with CCFC

As much as people seem to want there to be a falling out if both Fisher and Eastwood are saying it's not a problem then there's not a problem is there no matter what anyone else thinks?

    Christmas truce?

How can you not see a difference between moving 3 miles and moving nearly 100? If we are to move to Bermuda there will be a planning application and plenty of time for people to raise objections, that didn't happen with Wasps move, by the time anyone knew about it the deal was done.

    Christmas truce?

So you're saying when CCC kept talking about how well ACL was doing, CCFC being less than 10% of it's income, busier then ever diary that was all lies?

    New Stadium Announcement

Had a quick look into this. Take a look at this, cost £15m to build, holds 18K and was constructed, start to finish, in less than 100 days. Is designed to last 5 - 10 years and can be expanded to 25K. From the sounds of things the expansion can be done very quickly as it mentions it being...

Yes exactly that. CCC are not a private company, this is not like BT buying EE or a similar deal. CCC's primary concern should be the city of Coventry and the requirements of it's population. We have a football team and a rugby team that have both been based in the city for well over 100 years...
