Sakamoto’s final ball is the difference. It’s regularly better than other deliverers such as Wright, MVE or EMC. Rudoni is good as well but is also needed on the other end of them.
The Simms equation is simple for me. He will score streaks of goals but his all round game is very poor and unlikely to improve. I’d start BTA in the play offs - no question
Grimes, Sheaf, Rudoni, Eccles, Torp, Allen. At one point this year we were threadbare there. Now it’s our strength. Going into games with Rudoni, Sheaf and Grimes gives us a chance v anyone
Abiding memories of Highfield Rd
Emerging onto the West Terrace with the sprawl of the pitch in front.
Smell of fags drifting across (why did they never smell like that anywhere else).
In later years Oggy taking 3-4 fans out every home game with his warm up.
The ridiculous melee to get out at...
That’s the game isn’t it. You don’t want anyone in the squad that is happy not to play. And you have to keep them happy if they aren’t. None of Lati, Bassette have made a compelling case at all so they should suck it up and Lampard should continue to omit them for better options
True. But we did end up with numerous forward options and basically one RB. Agree re injuries. If Dovin and Thomas stay fit we’re play offs already. Guess that’s the game though.
