    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

What has that got to do with anything? Look outside more people are active than at the first lockdown which is what the conversation is about.

Same. And same for most people looking at the data.

    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

I can’t get over I’m being asked to go back in at the height of the pandemic. You’d never know we were essentially in lockdown right now. There’s been no attempt to enforce the rules at all. It’s pathetic and like everything this cowardly lazy government does it’s been eaten up by people who...

What do we need to progress?

Never understood the argument that lowering the quality of the league English players play in will make them better. If anything’s stopping talent coming through its squad sizes and loan rules. This will just make that worse as clubs are even more incentivised to stock up on young English kids...

What do we need to progress?

Maybe, but we brought in arguably seven or eight players of the right level last summer. I do think the limiting factor will be our wage budget though as each L1 player we upgrade will add to it. For me you always start at the back. I think we’d score more of the WBs and CMs could play further...

    Things that annoy you

Being told I have to go back into the office on Monday, seems mental to go back now but have new staff coming in and the argument is we “can’t onboard from home so this is in line with the government advice”. Seeing that article makes me feel a little better TBH. I’ll be masking up and keeping...

What do we need to progress?

Mainly because Dacosta went straight into the bench and has been used in the short time since coming back to training and Hilßner only got on the bench once Jobello and Kastaneer were injured.

What do we need to progress?

Hence the question, is it realistic. I though the same but TBH when you break it down the main question is can we expand the budget to improve the quality. Maybe not playoffs but top half is achievable from what I’ve seen. We aren’t that far off teams around 12/13th already IMO.

What do we need to progress?

I get your point but I think you need £15-20m to be competitive in this league even if £40m makes the job easier.

What do we need to progress?

Half way through the season, we look like a bottom 8 side with potential to be mid table IMO (current post loss negativity aside). Players have talked about pushing at the other end of the table next season, so what would we need to make that happen and become a top ten side? GK - I like...

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

Yes people will adapt by passing the cost of admin on to customers. £7bn/year spent on form filling rather than maintaining yours and my standard or living. Of course the share of other markets has been going up, that’s why they’re emerging markets and it’s been going up by definition while...

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

You misunderstand. No deal isn’t a stable state. Any failure to get a deal by today would’ve just meant the eventual deal we would’ve got would’ve been negotiated from a position of weakness. The idea that we could trade with our closest neighbours on WTO terms forever is nonsense. So we...

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

No deal was never going to happen. We aren’t going to not trade with our neighbours, that’s insanity. No deal would’ve just meant a delayed deal and a lot of economic carnage until we crawled back begging for scraps. “short term damage” is an indicator of someone who doesn’t know what they’re...

    Transfer Rumour Jack Clarke

The same one as Opta from what Frostie is saying. He gets fouled a lot, tackles back a lot, but also creates little and loses the ball a lot. I’m not saying he’s terrible, I’m saying he’s limited and we’ll need better to challenge at the other end of the table. Even if just to be able to take...

    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

There are more Gs than BSBs in the British electorate. You win from the centre in any political environment and that gives you capital for policy. Policy before governance is only useful for virtue signalling and right now Labour need to signal towards the right, because their vote on the left...
