You're overlooking one thing, Max came from non league and I.proved hugely over the season and there could potentially more to come. Of course there may not and he may have peaked in which case he probably isn't good enough for this league but it hasn't really been proven conclusively either way.

My opinion of Watson is very low, I will have to look in to the particulars of this case to see if he has used it as a career stepping stone rather than through genuine concern for abuse victims, if he has them that is shameful.
