    General Election 2019 thread

If the tories are City last season then the NHS is definitely Lee Burge and something that has to be targeted, and rightly so. No matter how bad or good the economy is most of us will be fucked if we have to pay 30 grand a pop for a round of chemo in our old age, (or unfortunately for some...

    SBT’s general election poll

I'm assuming you don't want the UK to leave the EU? If/when we do how will it affect you?

I dont think its two wrongs make a right. But there's an election coming up. If you're going to go down certain avenues then it needs to be done fairly in my opinion.

the charges against Corbyn have been answered ad nauseum In the EU thread. It's the inconsistency and the hypocrisy that get me. If you want to shine a light on Corbyns connection to the IRA 30 years ago then fine, but you can't ignore our more recent connections to the regime that are/were one...

maybe not, but I do and he'll be getting my vote as I don't trust the lib dems either. Particularly under swinson.

Corbyn has apologised for antisemitism in the Labour party, why do you feel the need to make things up? And if you are so against antisemitism and not just weaponising it for your own agenda you must be furious about the tories close relationship with Victor Orban. Tory MEPs criticised by...

and there are plenty of Jewish people supporting him. You do realise the Jewish community hold a whole raft of opinions and ideas? Do you think they all think the same? That's a bit anti-Semitic.

but as Liquid gold said yesterday, whether you like him or not, Corbyns Labour is a different animal to Blairs Labour. I trust Corbyn far more on the NHS than the Tories. There is far too much evidence of senior Tories meeting and taking payments from lobbyists.

    The Book of Mormon

Fairly sure the early Mormons were guilty of a massacre during the gold rush. Or perhaps I'm confusing them with some other crackpot fringe religion. Thought it was only the big boys who got up to that sort of thing.

There's a book by political economist Mark Blyth called Austerity- the history of a dangerous idea. There's a few interviews on YouTube with him on the subject which are worth a watch. He's a clever guy and he's laid waste to a few of my opinions on various subjects in the past!

I don't believe the tories for one minute when they say they don't want to privatise the NHS. Every time I've heard Hunt and May or Johnson and Hancock say it isn't I believe them even less.

    Best goalkeeper in recent years

See Covkid1968s post just above mine. He had a bad relationship with the City support after that and would give out and receive a lot of stick when he returned. He lived fairly locally to me when he played for City and was known to be a bit of a twat.

He gets away with murder but I've a feeling the tories are going to drop a major bollock somewhere. The NHS is obviously an Achilles heel and Matt Hancock already appears to be on the verge of a breakdown and makes a fool of himself in every interview. Surprised no one's jumped on it like they...

Phase 2 of the report sounds like it will very much be pointing the finger of blame at the commissioning of the material. I'd imagine the local authorities will take the brunt of it followed by the manufacturers. Johnson has shook the magic money tree again and 600 million has appeared to help...

    Sunderland away

It's not funny, it's perfectly reasonable to want the club to turn down revenue in the case of this one off game on principal. I agree they won't but don't see anything wrong with people wanting them to do so.
