Labour group votes to approve £19.5m Ricoh sale to Wasps

Feels like a disgrace all round at the moment. Be very interested to hear the full details and how CCC can defend their actions on this.

Can Wasps' consortium fund the deal

Not a lot of people I would have thought. Would hope all Coventry people boycott the Ricoh for their home games and rugby supporting people in general. They're going to lose thousands of their own supporters too. Seems a daft move to me, unless taking over CCFC is part of the deal too for them.

Labour group votes to approve £19.5m Ricoh sale to Wasps

I've always had time for Nellist too. Used toknow a bloke who worked with him for many years and he aslways said he was a very genuine, solid bloke.

If councillors believe that CCFC will leave and build a stadium outside the city

Or as a update .... They could just vote 'yes.'

Labour group votes to approve £19.5m Ricoh sale to Wasps

Can only come to the same conclusion, that the deal includes the takeover of CCFC Otherwise the whole thing doesn't make sense. Wasps losing thousands of their own supporters, local ones boycotting, CCFC buggering off elsewhere, leaving the Ricoh to finally become the white elephant people were...

Labour group votes to approve £19.5m Ricoh sale to Wasps

Ohh bugger. Well let's just hope there is a golden nugget of hope and good news for us amongst all this smoke and mirrors and skulduggery.

Wasps deal is for 100% of ACL

I'm past tense. I'm positively taut beyond comprehension.

Wasps deal is for 100% of ACL

I really, really hope so. If it is to happen, let's at least have our club with its finger in the pie.

If councillors believe that CCFC will leave and build a stadium outside the city

They simply have to vote no based just on that don't they? If it means losing the top sports club of Coventry to an area outside the city, not governed by the city council, they have to vote against. Coventry simply cannot allow it's own football team to be lost from the city. They also have...

    Cov Rugby Club Not Opposed

Would be better if they had more than 1700 signatures. They must feel disappointed with that. Would have thought all rugby fans around the country would sign it and obviously lots of City fans too.

Wasps deal is for 100% of ACL

I know this is probably a very long shot, but do we think there is any chance that the reason Joy Seppala said Sisu won't interfere is because she's heard about the Wasps deal and been informed that the deal includes the possible takeover of Coventry City FC?

Wasps deal is for 100% of ACL

There you go, Don. Corrected it for you. If this deal goes through and damages CCFC and CRFC we need to show our considerable anger to both the council and our owners.

    Cov Rugby Club Not Opposed

What should happen here is that CRFC and CCFC come out in opposition to the deal, declaring how much it is going to hurt the clubs. What we have had, is an almost defeatist, shrugged shoulders from our rugby club and a statement from out football club saying they won't interfere. Think that...

Wasps deal is for 100% of ACL

I would have taken them selling all our players and starting again with youth if it had secured our future at the Ricoh. This laughing stock of a club just stumbles from one mess into another. Just wish all sides would take a step back, take a deep breath and then give this a whole new fresh...

    Cov Rugby Club Not Opposed

Though obviously not approving the move and having big concerns, I have to say I am rather unhappy that CRFC haven't come out and been more vehemently in total opposition. Would at least put a bit more pressure on councillors. As it stands it comes across already as reluctant acceptance and the...

    Film Thread 2014

Watched Gravity for the first time today. On a 32" pretty crappy tv and yet I still found it stunningly brilliant. Really now wish I had seen it in 3D. Unbelievable film and incredibly gripping, in spite of it having next to no plot or story. Loved it. Saw American Hustle too the other day...

    Protest Tuesday

So in that case a postponement would be the way forwards. Put it this way, does the vote have to be tomorrow? Surely it can wait 7 days or a couple of weeks. Whether people are for the buyout, against the buyout, or not sure, the one thing we could unite and agree on would be that it would do...

    Protest Tuesday

I'll happily turn up at the council house tomorrow to lobby local councillors. Hope others feel the same way. Joy said 'won't interfere' but it didn't come across from Fisher's body language tonight from what he said.
