Love how you’ve retreated from “all our foreign signings are shit and Hamer is crap” to “If you don’t love O’Hare the most your opinion isn’t worth listening to”. Top notch back pedalling.

Which is our model after all: sign players with obvious flaws and try to iron them out.

Yes. He was signed as backup to Dabo, he did that job. But I’m talking to a guy who counts by far our best player as a “semi success” so fuck knows.

And then he dropped down to ebbesfleet and worked his way back up.

We signed Kasta two years ago and you’re still going on about him. So to be clear it’s only a “semi success[ful]” foreign signing if they are one of our best players and they had to travel over an ocean to get here. Any other provisos?

I didn’t say he was “up and coming” so not sure who you are quoting. I said he was on the way up as in he was moving up through the divisions. He hasn’t rattled around the same level for years which was the original point.

Sure. I’m sure Viveash just said “I saw this kid years ago sign him” and that was it. Ogogo was a dud. Don’t sign players from the same division. Alassani was a dud, don’t sign players from lower leagues. Giles was a dud, don’t take Prem loans. We can all cherry pick to suit our arguments.

We signed him two years ago.

Did he go through the foreign player recruitment process? Rose? Hamer? Say what you like about Jobello and Dacosta but both did a job for the team. You’ve got Kasta and Hilßner though. Just like the domestic process has Bosma, Allassani, Brown, Ogogo…

Did we scout him abroad yes or no?

We signed him at a lower level. Point is he was on his way up. Waghorn was just released by a team that finished well below us. He’s coming off a poor season and we’re gambling on him coming good again.

It must be that time of year again. Can’t you just read one the hundred other threads this argument has been played out on?

That’s a fair point. But also he was in his mid twenties when we signed him, not 31. And came with a better goal scoring record.

BRB off to tell Hamer and Dabo to GTFO.

Waghorn is a journeyman. He holds the record for scoring for different clubs in the division. Moore is a L1 keeper. His record at this level is worse than Wilson’s. I’m hoping the rumour were after another GK is true. Who was I expecting? Same as previous seasons really, some young Prem...

I don’t think he does. Sheaf was signed as Kelly’s replacement. And Sheaf played more minutes than Kelly last season. Both were unused subs 7 times.

He was certainly interested and by all accounts is again. He clearly thinks he can get the best out of him.
