We do have a lot of Japanese visit the area - Warwick Castle, Stratford upon Avon etc. You may well get a handful of those visitors who like football and know of him. If I was in Japan and got the chance to go to a local game, I would (particularly if there was a British player I knew).

    Transfer Rumour Billy Sharp

Yakubu had a lot of experience at a higher level, too - doesn't mean we should have signed him. The only forward at his age who would have been an asset, that I can think of recently, is Zlatan. Edit: oh, and obviously CR7 !!!

Do we need a centre mid?

Howley will be a year older, better too.

    Where is Jamie Allen?

Looks the sort able to self train during this period. Not ideal, but he's not a Razor Ruddock type who'll need to shed a few pounds!

    Where is Jamie Allen?

Vaguely remember reading MR had said something about him missing (non injury related?, but thought that was a week or more ago) I stress - vague recollection!

Would only let him go if we could get a fee and replace with a pacy forward, or younger proven finisher.

I'm not sure - he's out injured so often, I don't think he remembers what his best position is. Dodged a bullet (if we were ever seriously interested). Was a good player when fit, but I'd be unhappy of we'd have signed him for anything other than peanuts)

Think there is a middle ground between that and castigating him..... perhaps giving hits nuts a monthly tickle, until he lets us down, then Nick can two foot him in the nether regions.

Good point - forgot that when I posted. Although, that said, what exactly constitutes an operational loss? If it were previously say £3m, but we get an extra £2m TV income and extra £1m ST money, does that mean he funds nothing? Not being mischievous - just wondered what it meant practically.

This is what keeps the faux rivalry sh&t going. Each other's forums post things like this back to their own, and it just cements people's opinions of our/their fanbase.

Think the maths is a bit askew. The income is unlikely to be all up front, and the expenditure you've quoted the lower end of the mooted figures. We know that the club was losing money each year, and the ST sales have really only given us an up front cash injection (great for cash flow, which...
