EFL to end season this week - City likely to be promoted

One for DMac to think about...let’s just scrap the play offs and let the auto spots only go up. That would defo get the rebel alliance annoyed and would take PPG... hence why I think L1 will replicate L2 eventually.

EFL to end season this week - City likely to be promoted

he would need 51% of the vote to do that and there isn’t half the league that would want that. To be honest the 4 clubs who will cement a playoff place with unweighted PPG will now vote against DM proposals. why would those 4 clubs want more competition!

EFL to end season this week - City likely to be promoted

Also the ‘quality’ of loans from Premiership clubs increase to Champ clubs. Most on the verge of breaking through or experienced players who need game time. for me we continue the same kind of best young talent mixed with top quality loans. we should also look at taking some of the best...

EFL to end season this week - City likely to be promoted

DM claiming this striker is worth £25m in the Champ is laughable. He slapped a £10m price tag on Marcus Maddison and didn’t he end up going on loan to Hull?

EFL to end season this week - City likely to be promoted

DM to take fellow clubs to court as well as EFL. Guys lost the plot. Business is about to fail so he’s lashing out. Have Peterborough United missed out on a possible £25 million fee for Ivan Toney? Chairman admits failure to win promotion to the Championship would hit the club hard and he’s...

EFL to end season this week - City likely to be promoted

Looking at both the weighted and unweighted tables, only Posh are the ones who lose out for a play-off place. Relegation remains unchanged. Tranmere might kick up a fuss, but that leaves only 2 teams who would vote against the EFL proposal on Monday. Posh and Tranmere.

EFL to end season this week - City likely to be promoted

Interesting... apparently the EFL was going with weighted PPG but earlier this week changed their approach to unweighted. This meant Posh were in the play-offs and now with unweighted they won’t be. All makes sense why DM has kicked off.

EFL to end season this week - City likely to be promoted

And from what I’m reading today for the vote to be passed only needs 51%?

EFL to end season this week - City likely to be promoted

so under a non-weighted PPG, Posh miss out on the play-offs? Is that correct?

EFL to end season this week - City likely to be promoted

So I’ve just read if this method is applied to L2 it has to be replicated to the other leagues. This needs to be ratified by 51% of clubs in each league. Long way to go on this.

EFL to end season this week - City likely to be promoted

From BBC I’m told that if this PPG points per game system (weighted according to how many home & away matches played) is accepted (for L2), a precedent is then set for how to finalise tables, and then it was applied to Premier League if season didn’t resume, West Ham would drop into bottom 3...

EFL to end season this week - City likely to be promoted

If L2 have agreed this then it’s inevitable L1 will end up that way. You can’t have different approach for each league.
