You'd be surprised how many do walk, Torch. A lot from Longford, Foleshill and Alderman's Green way and I see a fair few heading from Radford when I walk up myself too.

Yep, very fair post. A lot of the criticism of the Ricoh has been about it's location and lack of pubs surrounding the place and it being rather cold and soulless just stuck out with not a lot surrounding it apart from the Arena Park. This location mooted would be much, much worse from that...

    Investment rumour.

I thought they were going to include a pedestrian walkway at Tollbar. There are indeed though a lot more people able to walk to the Ricoh than there could ever be at Baginton. I regularly walk to the Ricoh and I am just off the Radford Road. Takes me 25 mins. The Ricoh is very walkable from...

He is. There are 6 lanes outside the Ricoh.

    trivial things that are wonderful

The sound of waves gently brushing against the shore. The sound of Christmas carols being played by a brass band. Church bells. A view of countryside from a hill.

New kit announced in the coming days

Are you suggesting we need to look at Tim Fisher's car to see if there are massive dents on the bumper and bonnet?

You buy the stadium and then go up to the rightful owner and say 'Congratulations! You are now the proud owner of a footballing arena!'
  11. Otis

    Investment rumour.

'Soon be some news' and 'be done with the London rugby club' are years and years apart, you do know that don't you?
  12. Otis

    Investment rumour.

Yep. No-one can moan about the parking round the Ricoh. There's shed loads of spaces.
  13. Otis

    Investment rumour.

Yes, I agree. But they will be perceived as being the biggest sporting side in Coventry to the outside world. The only to change that is for City to get bigger crowds and have success themselves.
  14. Otis

    Investment rumour.

Hmm, well on the Wasps point, while we stay at the Ricoh we need to totally outsell Wasps on the attendances front. it puts us in a much stronger position if we are getting 13,000 - 15,000, while they are only get 5,00 - 6,000. We need to be the major sporting team in this city and remain so...
  15. Otis

    Investment rumour.

I don't think we would, but I do think gates will drop. It's going to be harder to get to than the Ricoh, especially now with the rail station in place at the latter.
  16. Otis

    Investment rumour.

Much, much further away for me, but I have always said if a new stadium were ever to be built, as long as it was in Coventry, or very close to Coventry I wouldn't have a problem with it. Will irk me though if Wasps are playing in a stadium that is much, much nearer to me and in Coventry, while...
  17. Otis

    Investment rumour.

Isn't that a bit dumb? Didn't they have the opportunity to sort this out, along with the rest of the roadworks?
  18. Otis

    Investment rumour.

I thought they were addressing this weren't they? I used to work on the industrial estate and it used to be a total nightmare trying to get out of the place.
  19. Otis

    Investment rumour.

While personally having no objection to the airport, I thought people were moaning about the accessibility of the Ricoh weren't they?
  20. Otis

    Investment rumour.

I thought we wanted it 7 days a week, 365 days a year. If it's only going to be used twice a week we might as well stay at the Ricoh.
