I think there’s serious problems if you’re expecting any kind of swing away from Labour after the disaster of 2019. If we start losing Cov South and the like there’s far bigger concerns for the party than can we get a majority.

You don’t need it and the messaging is counter productive. When Labour are moderate Tories switch to Lib Dem without fear. Allying with the likes of Greens and PC/SNP would scare them off again.
