Match Thread Middlesbrough (A) Match Thread

Shipley is barely even a body when he plays AM, Waghorn a bit deeper will at least press and take the ball from the DMs.

Alternatively, take the option and make him reserve LWB next season and use the resource we would’ve spent there elsewhere.

Of course they don’t. They’re about revenge and making people not on benefits feel good.

    Championship 21/22

After Boro we’ve got 7 games in a row against bottom half opposition. If we’re ever going to go on a run this is our best chance. I think we’ll need to be a good few points clear by the end of March to stand a chance. Last 8 games are brutal.

    January Transfer Window

Would be an amazing window in terms of culling dead wood if so. I can’t think of any other senior players getting little game time. In terms of minutes it’s only Wilson (reserve GK fair enough), Shipley (Only just started playing his way onto the pitch and could have gone), Kelly and Waghorn...

    Clarke Salter

That’s what Salary Sport says for his Chelsea profile. But under our squad it says he’s on £9k 😂😂

So based on that, I’d change my team to: Moore Hyam Fadz JCS Kane Hamer Sheaf Bidwell O’Hare Waghorn Györkeres S: Wilson, Dacosta, Rose, Maatsen, Allen, Shipley, Tavares

This kinda proves my point. I’ve no idea what the split between covid and Brexit is, but the fact it’s not clear cut means mostly it’ll be down to your prior beliefs what to blame and what to excuse. My point was really that I don’t see some great moment with Brexit where Brexit voters come...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Literally no one doesn’t vote Labour because of Iraq. The left don’t like it but vote anyway cos otherwise they’ll get Tories. The right don’t care. Brexit will be the same. Labour need to stop hoping someone will hand them power on a silver platter and do the hard work of actually appealing to...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Oh yeah like how people stopped supporting Right to Buy after it contributed to the housing crisis, oh wait. All of that stuff is second order, no one who voted for Brexit is going to change their mind based on it, they’ll just blame covid, or the government, or the EU like we saw with supply...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

The support for Brexit has barely changed. Remains lead in polls has come from dont knows collapsing and breaking almost exclusively for remain. Which suggests the base Johnson got elected on still exists and likely in the areas he needs it to.

    The Championship's well run clubs

It was more the word “sustainable” I had an issue with. We’re about as sustainable as my daughter is self sufficient, in that she is until I get sick of her and make her actually support herself. Not a worry while she’s six, but when she’s thirty I may have a very different view. And of course I...

The Tory line for at least the next three elections will be “Labour want to rejoin the EU” whoever is leader.

Better chance than anyone else I reckon. A lot easier to fight a classic Tory than someone who steals half your clothes. Johnson is pro net zero, pro spending, charismatic. Nightmare to position yourself against as a left wing party.

    Train prices

Fuckin TrainPal cos me £50+ after the tickets I bought were cancelled without my knowledge and I had to buy on the train or risk a fine. Never again. Got my original money back but still a load of stress and £50 and down £150 for two days waiting for the refund.
