I don't think I am confused about dissent though. The player kept arguing with the ref at the decisions and kept throwing his arms about. That IS dissent.

Ironically, on one other occasion yesterday he perhaps should have shot, but decided to pass instead. It's all about knowing when to take it on yourself and when other players are in a better position to score.
