Yep, just checked on the Beeb. The final was indeed 52,100. There is surely no way on this earth that Huddersfield had 15,000 for their home play-off match and then took 2,000 less than that to the final. That would be bizarre beyond belief.

Something must have changed, cos I've looked back and all the attendance are around the 40,000 mark until you go back to 2010, where Millwall played Swindon in front of 73,000. Since then, all 40,000's apart from that one that was just over 50,000. Did they change the rules all of a sudden?

Would love to know for certain. Last season's final had an attendance of 48,000, with 25,000 from Preston and 23,000 from Swindon. The season before was 43,000 for the game between Orient and Rotherham. The season previous to that was 42,000 for Brentford v Yeovil. 52,000 the year before...
