Northampton Town chairman: Coventry City can afford rent

Is this guy all there? How can anyone not be concerned about getting paid by SISU? Do they not have internet access in Northampton, surely he could have done a quick check on Google before he got involved in this mess. I think NTFC fans will live to regret the day he ever agreed to this.

a question for those not intending to go to northampton..

also have to consider where we will be by then. I doubt it will be five years and I can easily see us being non league by the time we come back, if we ever do.

    Lobby official club partners

Did you miss the part where the NTFC chairman said, to paraphrase, he didn't care about Coventry so long as he got some cash? If he hadn't agreed to the groundshare we wouldn't be playing there plain and simple. It is at least partially the fault of NTFC that we will be playing there.

a question for those not intending to go to northampton..

Depends where it is but I imagine I would. To be honest I would love to flick a switch and just forget about football and no longer be a supporter but it doesn't work like that. Having said that I can imagine many more casual fans (the type that don't spend all day somewhere like this forum!)...

For those living outside of Cov

Sure the more MPs we can get to sign this the better so if you're outside Cov email / phone you local MP and ask them to support the early day motion: http://www.parliament.uk/edm/2013-14/369

I can see someone doing something silly

You could be right unfortunately. I'm about the most laid back placid person you could meet but if Fisher had been anywhere near me this morning he would have got a slap.

    The Hill Solution

If you're chairman thinks that he needs to look further at who he's dealing with. Investigate SISU not just in relation to CCFC but everything else they get involved in and you will find court cases left right and centre and companys being cast aside and destroyed by SISU - it's what they do. He...

    The Hill Solution

don't see why it wouldn't be peaceful unless you're suggesting Northampton fans aren't going to be happy with the protest and try and start trouble. The reason for it is to make the players aware we still support them and illustrate that low attendances are not down to the fact that we can't be...

    The Hill Solution

they may well do but what basis would they have for doing that? Is it public land? Maybe the SBT could speak with the Northants police and have it authorised in advance.

    here comes fisher

Not to say that Fisher isn't telling the truth but the Northampton chap was on thier local breakfast show and said there was no problem with getting out of the contract!

    well done CCLSC

    here comes fisher

Joy really needs to stop Fisher speaking, every time he opens his mouth it becomes more and more obvious he isn't telling the truth. How blatent a lie do you want than saying ACL won't talk to you a day after ACL have publically said they want the club to stay there and are open to talks?!? He...

    Chairman - Potentialy 5 years!

I can see them going for Sixfields, apparently their owner is planning to sell up once the improvements have been done. No doubt the 2 clubs will then be merged. FL will claim they didn't want to do it but had no other choice.

    Newco Coventry

what would actually get liquidated tho? it's ltd in admin, according to Fisher holdings have the contracts and a claim for the GS so what difference does it make it they liquidate ltd (other than a possible further points penalty).

Football League need to justify there decision.

pretty sure there is also a rule that says they will only consider a club moving if they have no ground available in their home area, we have the Ricoh sat there ready and waiting!

    Northampton Town supporters trust statement

not very impressed to be honest, should have been a lot stronger statement than that. Am I right in think they have Trust representation on their board?
  19. chiefdave

    Will you go to Sixfields

it's closer for me but I won't be going, at least I won't be going into the ground.

    Franchise football FC

I can see it happening. According to the Northampton forum their owner is looking to sell once the redevelopment is done. Can see a merger happening. Now we've gone it makes it easy for SISU, they'll just claim they can't purchase a suitable site, can't get planning permission etc. Going on the...
