Given they were conditions of the sale I would expect them to be detailed in a legally binding contract stating exactly what the requirements are but as this is CCC they were probably accepted a day out at the rugby and didn't bother doing anything to ensure the conditions were actually met or...
Thats going well then. No development around the Ricoh, refusing to talk to the club about staying and went back on their promise not to have games the same time as CRFC.
He seems to always choose his words very carefully. This is the first time I've heard him mention the council as a reason for not working with the club.
"We rely on a good relationship with Coventry City Council and are talking to them about how to develop this ground. But how can we do that...
Reads to me like someone at the council has applied some pressure and said they will make life difficult if CCFC are associated with the project.
Certainly wouldn't be the first time that has happened and fits in with the pattern of the council trying to block any move as soon as it was known...
You also have to factor in that they borrowed money to make the first few interest payments on the bonds so on top of turning round that loss they also need to find the money to make the interest payments.
That's a hell of a lot of extra business to bring in when we were repeatedly told that...
Its simple for me. Everything SISU did, as bad as they have been, could be undone with new owners up until the point Wasps turned up.
The sale of ACL to Wasps massively decreased the chance of us getting new owners anytime soon and massively decreased the chance of us being a sustainable club...
Overall would have to say we don't look too good this year when in the past we have been pretty comparable to other clubs.
Only 6 clubs have their cheapest ST at the same price or higher than us. Although another 10 are within £30.
11 clubs most expensive ST is cheaper than ours.
Our cheapest...
Suspect we are well past that point. More likely a 'get what you can' situation now. However while the club runs at break even there's no incentive for her to sell without some sort of return.
It could but it won't. When anything like this is discussed you always get the same response of people saying it happens everywhere there's nothing you can do about it. Without the will to change things nothing will happen.
Didn't they borrow enough in the bonds to cover the interest payments? So unless they've been really stupid and spent that you'd assume they can make the payment.
Past that though its hard not to see something isn't right. They've got rid of people at ACL and not replaced them, using Fishers...
Great news. As for the pool surely that now doesn't need to go where the indoor pitch is or a new indoor pitch can be built where Wasps were planning to go. Pool plans will surely need to be changed anyway as they previously included facilities linked to rugby which won't now be needed - not...
Not to pick on Astute but this highlights the problem all parties have in getting economic policy over to the masses. Even in sound bite form people struggle so when you drill down into the detail you've already lost the interest of most voters.
