Is a government whose ministers have put a £1billion investment at risk competent? I think not. IIf only they had been offered a free cruise. https://www.theguardian.com/business/2024/oct/11/p0-ferries-owner-pulls-news-of-1bn-port-investment-after-ministers-criticise-firm

It is often argued that there is an economic benefit from legal immigration. What the figures are showing is that this is not always the case in so far as low skilled immigrants are concerned, As far as I can see, low skilled indigenous population will still have those costs associated with them...

There probably isn’t a difference. However, you can stop/ reduce legal immigration and hence effectively importing those costs. Also illegal immigration needs to be stopped with repatriation.

Another would be to repatriate the 1% of the population who are illegal immigrants and reduce the 1% added to the population by the legal immigrants.

His personal and Labours approval ratings will have to improve quite a lot from the disastrous position it now finds itself. There will still be a significant number of surviving pensioners who will remember the bollocks about black holes and consequent loss of winter fuel allowance with...

Driving for 54 years and never had an accident. I’m not sure what you are basing your views on, I wonder how many posts I have made which could possibly lead you to that conclusion. I am very attentive when I’m driving, and you are right that drivers cutting across into side streets without...

    Road closures

it would be pretty disastrous if it was the pedestrians that implemented it and the motorists that didn’t. It’s a rule that isn’t being policed, like fucking e-scooters and cyclists on pavements. When did it become acceptable to ride bikes on footpaths? I don't think anybody is following that...

    Road closures

Pedestrians just stepping out to cross at side street junctions is dangerous. I think getting pedestrians to pause there until there is a clear crossing is sensible and is how it had been for my 53 years of driving. It is an entirely safe approach. Do you always stop if there are pedestrians...

If Kitching was a Serie B player he would still be English and not need a visa. If we had been after Cucinare we would have ended a visa.

    Road closures

It’s the most sensible Idea so will never happen. If it didn’t happen, there would still be prats who wouldn't use it to save themselves 5 yards walk.

    Road closures

Why is the entitled way that pedestrians cross the road right? They are rightly entitled when the lights are in their favour, and not when the lights are indicating not to cross. I’m not sure that the pedestrians crossing the road at other places or ignoring lights are playing by the rules at...

    Road closures

It was a bloody stupid idea to my mind, and one which was partially observed when introduced but probably forgotten by most now. However common sense should be applied by pedestrians as well as drivers - claiming priority isn’t all that much use if you are dead,
