    Steps removed. SISU and CCFC.

Yes, she would. I don't think she will win, but it involves staff time and the possibilty that she wins holding back the council doing other things that they are supposed to be doing. I don't think they get the money back for their own time and trouble if Joy loses. Both sides lose by this...

    Steps removed. SISU and CCFC.

If I were a council tax payer, I would applaud measures taken to avoid further wastes of money. SISU made a bad purchase and it has cost them millions. Not the fault of the Coventry taxpayer. Any money the council has to pay in to fund SISU's mistakes comes from people who have worked for that...

No... the council tax payers will applaud it - see my post.

And... if the council say we will not assist the club in any way over what we are obliged to do unless they ( or SISU if you prefer ) drop JR2, they will be applauded for it by the council tax payers. There will be no pressure to help CCFC from the council tax payers.

    Steps removed. SISU and CCFC.

Yes, maybe. That won't stop us "being held to ransom" though. We left without taking into account the possible consequences. We are up sxxt creek without a paddle... being annoyed won't alter that.

Please explain how that would alter our negotiating position. I don't think any of the parties are concerned whether the fans are annoyed.

If CCFC now do nothing that is the end of the story - as you rightly point out. I assume CCFC want to continue playing football in or near Coventry. If they want to get anywhere with that, they have to put something on the table to reopen talks. The only thing that would reopen talks ( apart...

This started out as.... CCC are wankers, ACL are wankers, The Ricoh is an "edifice", a "white elephant", the reason for our demise etc. Etc. etc.. We are leaving - in a white van with all our gear. We will have our own stadium with all the revenue- err.. well ok the prop co. will have some of...

They are one and the same from the point of view of the council. This means that if John Sharp needs the council - which he does - then, from the position in negotiations, he has to take the stance that they are one and the same. On a day to day running of the club basis they are separate...

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

Yes, the baby boomers are retiring. The percentage of pensioners is growing. Who is going to be working and paying National insurance? If loads of kids are born now, they won't be working for the next 20 years. I'll be 82 by then ( admittedly in Germany - but Germany has the same problem ). How...

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

Flights - not package holidays- also became cheaper because of more competition in Europe through "open skys" and EU liberalisation policies. When was the last time you went on a package holiday? I went on one in the 80s, now I book my flight and hotel online.

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

There is a difference between coming to the UK and staying in the U.K. without a job. The money can come from the same source as the bribe to the DUP. What makes you think that the only source of government income is the average working man? I suspect that, as here in Germany, the average...

Travel wasn't as cheap and easy and there wasn't as much soft fruit production as now. So you're not far off.

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

Open borders is not quite true is it? The economy has grown along with the population. It did in the 50s and 60s in Coventry.... and there was a housing shortage then, but the world did not come to an end. The world population is also growing. People move to more prosperous areas. Unless you are...

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

No, we should stay in the EU to avoid possible future wars. Civil unrest is being caused by poverty ( and religion ). Was caused by poverty before the EU. Will be caused by poverty if Brexit goes pear shaped. Civil discontent is being aggravated by populists and deliberate fake news - some from...

    Actual Nazis in America

They do give an alternative view point and point out that antifa is not a club with membership. The police could be referring to people not from Portland or Portland resistance. One person was bragging about trying to run into the protesters... more sweetness...

    Actual Nazis in America

Portland's Resistance added 2 new photos. 43 mins · Please Share! Let's make this very clear. Rhetoric like this from Portland Police Bureau is exactly what is feeding violent white supremacy in this country right now. Ted Wheeler needs to educate his goons on what Antifa is. Antifa means...

    Actual Nazis in America

Exactly. Makes you wonder why Farage instead of speaking out against them, goes to Germany at the invitation of the grand daughter of one of Hitler's ministers who leads a party known to include the extreme right, and openly encourages them to "think the unthinkable" and to "speak the...
