The most important comment in all of this - I’m guessing we’re going to have to go for ‘Frankie Lampard’s Sky Blue Army?’. Always inconvenient when we have to create a fourth syllable.

Many people did say it at the start of the season, but Doug is ultimately the most important opinion because he is where investment lies. It worries me because personally I believe we need (better) investment. I hope he understands that whoever he brings in will need it.

I’m amazed you would think that midfield is top 6 material. Obviously happy to disagree, but I would argue in quantity alone it’s lacking.

But presumably that is what has pushed his decision in sacking Robins, which makes me think he genuinely believes it.

But he talks as if the current squad should already be in the play offs. There isn’t a position where I wouldn’t think improvement is needed to push us to that point. I just hope he doesn’t think Lampard should be doing it with the ‘deck’ provided.

That’s what annoys me. In the first ten mins, I could see how it would play out. Why not back your team and attack the game. There wasn’t anything to lose.

Defeat isn’t. The performance and tactics were just lacking that it reduces any morale.
