Sky Blue youth superstars who never made it...

That’s a great point. I’m not sure I’ve ever considered Bennet as one of our best. Clearly he is. I think maybe that whole ‘87 team just get lost in collective wonderment. In fact there were some amazing individuals that made up that team. Many of whom wouldn’t have looked out of place playing...

Sky Blue youth superstars who never made it...

I thought he was hugely overrated and was well chuffed when he was sold...£750k? One who had a decent career but I thought looked good was graham Rodger. I think him and Steve livingstone spent most of their career at Grimsby. When Grimsby were half decent.

I know what you mean. He had waddle in his back pocket by the end of the game though!

I used to play in the same Sunday league team as him! Went to Mansfield, Leyton Orient...think he’s only just stopped playing.

    Highfield Road Best Memories ?

Haha! I lived in Lahndahn Tahn at the time and I think Chelsea won the cup one of those seasons...might have been after? Anyway, the day of the cup final I decided to wear my cov top while walking through the west end. At one point I Essentially had a whole pub of Chelsea fans singing and...

    Highfield Road Best Memories ?

Those back-to-back, first game of the season, Chelsea matches were good though right?

Favourite football ground that no longer exists (excluding HR)

I also went to Thats it! It felt like a proper family day out too. Albeit we weren’t in the really crazy bit behind the goal. They won the league that year. Simeone patrolled the touch line all dressed all in black and duly got the adoration of the crowd. Good fun!

I went to the Calderon. A right rickety old stadium...and all the better for it. Great atmosphere. The stand we were in was ridiculously steep!

    Are SISU bad owners?

I think they’re not worst we’ve had... Whoever sold HR and started building a stadium they couldn’t afford should take that mantle...mcginty? Richardson?

Walsall! My old man took me to their old ground to watch Pompey. There was a river of piss meandering down the terrace from the back of the toilets and there was a sheer drop at the back of where we were stood. There’s character and then there’s character. We also had to watch a young(ish)...

    Homophobic chanting

    ...and so ends the debate.

    Homophobic chanting

Is it being offended because people say they’re offended?

    Homophobic chanting

I’d say, the responses on here suggest that some people do care about and are offended by the ‘gayboy’ chanting.

    Unbeaten start

I think I was there for that if it’s the same game. We played in our purple/yellow away kit?

    Maddison to Ireland?

I don’t care about international football...do we get money if he gets a cap?

    Christmas is saved!

I’ve never forgiven Elliot for pushing in front of me in the queue for the bar at Swindon a couple of years back. For that reason alone I think he would fail the ‘fit and proper’ owners test.

    Christmas is saved!

Most clubs seem to be living beyond their means. It surely can’t be long before one goes to the wall. Were Aldershot the last to do so? Worryingly, given that we have few assets, I’d say we’d be prime candidates. Who would want to save us?!
