    Are you happy

Spot on advice and take care SBB83 Theses are very strange times. Breezed through the first 6-7 weeks of lockdown even though I live alone and WFH. I’m fortunate I’ve got great group of mates and family to speak to and have also been kind of seeing a girl (casually) pre Covid for a few months...

I’m pretty sure I’ve read Germany utilise nowhere near their daily/weekly capacity. If you’re mainly testing people who (think they’ve) ‘got it’ and you’re testing 100k+ a day, you’re probably going to either be testing the same people on repeat (health/social care workers) or you’re fucked ...

Sam Coates (sky) got the question in ! 27k home kits and 12k via satallites (not sure what that means) so about 40k tests sent out. So sounds like they’ve completed about 80k in the labs etc. Decent enough and good to see that daily capacity is there for the coming weeks/months

I was kidding about the randoms. As I say the important thing is having the capacity there (to be utilised properly) in future ps what did your letter say mate ?! ; )

Agreed. Made a massive rod for his own back which under the current circumstances just wasn’t necessary. Good that the capacity is now there but as I say, only really if it’s used correctly (nhs, care homes and their families etc but then over an above that really the main benefit is in...

To be fair, I didn’t expect them to get anywhere near so whether the testing capacity is now 80k, 90k or 150k per day, all I know is it’s far better than it was a month ago. I’ve always felt its a widely available accurate antibody test that we/everyone needs (assuming level of immunity post...

    Bristol City Captain

Anyone seen the ‘sporting merit’/PPG* final league one table (saw Prem and they had Liverpool ending up on 109 points !) ? Thought someone would’ve knocked up a league one version by now ? apologies if I’ve missed it *from what I saw it’s not quite as straight forward as a standard PPG calculation

Not suggesting any of them are 100% standalone reasons for better or worse current results but there will be combinations of factors that will help or hinder. As you’ve highlighted with HK strict lockdown, negating the high density, SK - looser lockdown but excellent (almost oppressive) tech...

South Korea have been phenomenal. Their tech trace and track (together with other measures) has helped them keep a lid on it (to date) New Zealand have done great but not really comparable. 4m population and if you’ve ever been to South Island you can drive for an hour and not see another car...

Spot on Eddie....he probably popped on here for 15 mins !!! Media and social media is awash with negativity. Yes, there is lots of bad news around but the better news stories are either ignored, played down or spun into something negative.....even Colonel Tom on his 100th birthday !

Interesting point Wingy and there will no doubt have been some deaths caused by people not going to hospital sooner (hopefully not many as that would be horrific - knowing two people who nearly got to that stage, I can only imagine how bad it would’ve been). There is the flip side though (that I...

haha...now, now Fernando ! To be fair, I’ve been clear about the reasons why I think it’s very difficult to accurately compare countries now based on current confirmed cases and deaths, as we know little about actual case numbers in various countries, future spread, reinfection etc etc. I’ve...

Not good news at all Clint. Unfortunately I imagine this is going to be the case for most/all countries, at different times, as they release lockdowns. It will be a ‘suck it and see’ experiment regarding which measures can be relaxed, for how long etc etc Germany has been a very strange case to...

Nice analogy, but youre suggesting this is full time when most scientists are saying this is very early stages ? We don’t know how many waves there could be of this (I’m hoping just one or two but realistically that’s unlikely) and how it will impact nations in future For example, I’d rather be...

I think comparing the measures and what’s worked and what’s not (whilst taking into account the cultures, population etc) is probably a far more useful comparison Tonys right, NZ have done very well (got a mate and his family out there so chuffed) but very different country to us and many...

I think thats what Witty and Vallance have been taking about as the likely more accurate indicator of the impact of Covid-19 (direct and indirect) in recent weeks, however, this would still need a bit of additional work/fine tuning ps would still only be useful once the virus has been...
