The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

Germany pays lots in and, as with us, gets lots out of it. Merkel has said she wanted the UK to remain, but respects the vote. Not bad for the leader of the fourth Reich and EUSSR. Our say is much more, than say, Estonia in the European Parliament. UK 73 mandates. Estonia 6 Mandates.

No. You know who I mean because he is your favourite pantomime villain. Mine is Farage.

Of course the EU cares about youth. You cannot blame everything on the EU. That is lazy. Many EU countries always had employment problems, especially in the country regions. Others are still emerging from years of communism. How the hell can they compete with the West. They have made great...

He was democratically elected by an electoral college and cannot pass laws. How do you get that all federal organisations have to be centralist and right wing? The point of a federation is that individual states have some powers for local matters and the central government controls the state...

There are lots of places where savings can be made. The negotiations for the next EU budget begin in 2018. There will have to be considerable savings. Good, the EU will become more efficient. One thing they shouldn’t skimp on is bringing Europe together starting with the youth. I‘m a member of a...

Do they get subsidies for school trips to Switzerland or Norway from the EU? I was talking about school trips. My daughter is off to Spain and is happy as larry.

Well that is a good idea for once ;-). I reckon I could get some movement from the EU on things like unskilled immigration, abuse of benefits and better control of EU spending - simply because there are other groups that want these things ( e.g. FDP and CSU in Germany ). I would offer to throw...

Until now Britain was looked upon in a favourable light. Even exchange trips to Coventry were looked upon as positive. Now Britain is no longer an EU partner ( from 2019 ) and it will looked at differently. Or do you expect us to increase cultural activities and friendship contacts because of...

How many EU countries are ruled by a grotesque right wing dictator? Oh yes, I forgot Hungary.

Well it starts off with the small things. I and many others have to have 2 passports to ensure our rights. My kid won’t be coming on an exchange visit to Coventry. The English course in the schools may use Ireland and the USA as the main themes instead of life in the UK.. Not exactly suffering...

If you are referring to the CDU, it wasn’t a yes no vote. At the end of the day Merkel will probably be Kanzlerin as Head of a coalition with over 50% of the votes. What’s your point?

I wanted our sovereign parliament to do its job. If it made the wrong decision we could at least vote it out. They kicked their responsibility on to a relatively uninformed electorate and now millions are going to suffer in some way. We cannot now reverse the decision.

Not true though is it? It is on the list of the 3 most important points which the UK want to bypass.

Are you referring to the present Conservative Party or our parliamentary democracy as a whole? Both existed long before the EU so you can hardly accuse them of copying or being imposed upon us by the EU. Would that also imply that you want absolutely everything decided by Referendums of voters...

How do you class mutually guaranteeing and continuing existing rights after Brexit for people who were here before Brexit as being awkward? Do you want me to lose my rights because of Brexit?

So you want one of the 30% of elected members of a sovereign parliament to ignore the views of the majority of elected representatives and press on with the disaster? I have heard so much about democracy since the referendum, but it appears that democracy stops with a sovereign elected body.

I slept on people’s couches when I first came to Germany and when I lived in London. I was young and single and enjoyed the fact that I could up and go when I wanted. Never asked for state funding and never thought I was homeless- although I was technically.

It’s windy and raining here. Weather must be from Brexit Britain. Although blue sky is now visible. Perhaps Juncker has intervened.
