Match Thread Coventry City vs. Bradford City Match Thread - Friday 19th Apr

The writing has been on the wall for Bradford for quite some time, now in reality. It would have been easy for us to slip up today, these are the kind of teams that have really been the bane of our season. A pretty accurate reflection of our season, really. Not making the most of our chances...

Sunderland fans forum - post match

Why not? They've held a grudge for how many years? Stands to reason that they'll be moaning about this for the rest of eternity now too.

    What were Spurs doing there?

    City v spurs

It was a fantastic run from De Bruyne, and the pass was just perfect.

Was that Sissoko booking the most pointless yellow card in the history of football?

    City v spurs

I saw a goal! Sterling makes it 3-2. If only spurs were playing in red and white stripes, this would seem strangely familiar.

And there I was watching the Liverpool game. I missed every single goal, and nobody has come close since!

    Tony Gillan Sunderland Echo

Wow, talk about a sore loser! Basic fact is, high and mighty "big club" Sunderland haven't managed to beat little, insignificant Coventry City this season, and could have, in fact, should have, lost both games. Maybe football journalism isn't for this guy.

    Notre Dame on fire

A picture on Twitter I just saw actually shows the inside hasn't suffered much damage, relatively speaking that is. I'd imagine a rebuild is entirely possible, and actually easier than it could have been.

    One firefighter seriously injured, apparently.

    Notre Dame on fire

It's awful watching on Sky news. I would imagine it's a very accurate reflection of what happened to ours in the blitz. It's just a shell, the entire roof is just gone.

    Notre Dame on fire

The main spire has collapsed, not sure how much of it they're going to be able to save. The roof looks completely wrecked. I suppose that's the big problem with old buildings, lots of timber and lead.

Match Thread Coventry City vs. Bradford City Match Thread - Friday 19th Apr

This is going to end up an absolute borefest isn't it? Probably a 0-0. Can't see Bradford being anywhere near as open as Sunderland. They're at the wrong end of the table for us as well as them. Fully expect this to be a frustrating one, and our forwards to struggle.

    Ipswich away next year?

A case of being careful what you wish for. I recall McCarthy's last post match interview, he couldn't wait to get out of there. Who can blame him? Got lots of stick from fans who had no appreciation for what he was doing there.

    Observer article

Opened mouth, inserted foot. Tried to play the arrogant angle all along and now he's had it blow up on him, and rightly so. Les Reid has it right on this.

Fleetwood - Joey Barton new manager

Hope he gets the book thrown at him. Not exactly a stranger to this kind of behaviour. If this is indeed true, I'd hope a very lengthy ban from any football activity would follow at the absolute bear minimum. Wouldn't shed a tear if he found himself behind bars. Nothing but a thug.

Not sure how well known he will be on here, but Paul Raymond of UFO. They've just finished their final UK tour as well.
