The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

Yes, but not the Express again...;-) FYI: AfD are set for 5,5% in Lower Saxony in today's vote. Merkel's party for 35%. Not final. Lower Saxony will probably stay as a SPD led coaltion. Far right and right did well in Ausrtria. For Grendel: I can get in a lift with 20 people in Lower Saxony and...

    Oh Jeremy Corbyn

Hurting Europe shouldn't be the aim of Brexit. Neither should hurting ourselves be an option. What is the opportunity? Is that worth the stress and damage to ourselves and Europe?

    Oh Jeremy Corbyn

He is a tosser though, and he does that very well. Singing in front of people giving Hitler salutes is a bit strange. Hitler's government were not exactly fans of free speech. PC those days was being anti communist and anti semitic.

Here is the twin city of Cov. The mayor and a delegation were here in September. Gilbert didn’t report it. The Coventry Corps of Drums gave a concert here together with a Kiel group. The major gave a speech to the council in the Kieler Rathaus. So, Coventry friendly city ;-) Not far from Lübeck...

Actually I am in the bar. We have opened early because Holstein Kiel are playing. They are having a great season in their first season for 40 years in the 2 Bundesliga. We are HSV Supporters Club in Kiel, but they played yesterday. Trying to build up a Kiel following in my pub.

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

I say negotiations take place. If the result is imperfect then it must be improved. As with everything in this world. If they improve the regulations, then it is everyone‘s interest that the rules are controlled. I have no educated opinion on quotas, but I know that the fishing industry here...

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

How come? EU migrants are leaving because of the falling pound. These things fluctuate. No poor countries are set to join immediately, and those that are lined up have to conform to EU conditions. Also they are not as big as Romantia and Bulgaria.

They have things like the fisheries commission which e.g. regulate fish quotas in the Baltic. They have just ended negotiations- means not every country got what they wanted but they agreed a compromise.

How do we get any regulations and bureaucratic rules if no one agrees anything?

Don’t we have anyone on some sort of commission? Who regulates live stock in the EU? We had Farage on the Fisheries Commission. He hardly ever went, but he was our representative there.

We are still in the EU. Do you know what our representatives have said or done on these matters?

Actually when I decided to leave Cov I just went. Went to Cannes for a few months, but the topless beaches, cheap wine and red hot sun got to me. I was happy to move to the Oktoberfest. Loads of beer, decent women and some rain. Rejoice. Lived in a tent at a big camp site until I got some work...

Was he talking of cruelty or food standards? Not ethical standards, but e.g. use of hormones.

Didn’t say they were. They do however have agreements with the EU. The talk of hard border assumes there will be a cliff edge scenario without the UK reaching any agreements.

The millions who have come to the UK are the young and poor who want to better themselves. The rest are getting by at home with their families. They may well prefer that to the UK.

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

Yeah, both in the same customs union. But the problem is not the ROI or the EU. The problem is not having a bespoke customs union on the island of Ireland, ( ROI and EU would wear that ), but how do you incorporate the rest of Britain into it if there is a hard Brexit?

I didn't mention a second referendum. Just making a general point. I cannot see us coming out of this better off than we were.
