You could argue that the move achieved a short term aim in that the club was offered a deal on vastly reduced terms.
Long term it's destroyed us, but they seemed prepared to go another season with the pitch renewal and the first 3 games
This! I'm heartened by the trust mentioning us playing in the city of coventry rather than specifically the Ricoh.
The club needs to control its own destiny
Granted Norwich and Leicester, however down to league 1-Southampton followed a similar path to us. They spent 27 years in the prem, with relegation battles. The Rupert Lowe years nearly bankrupted them.
Their fans didn't desert In the club's time of need. We had 27k against Gillingham and 11k...
I'm a mid-90s joiner to the sky blue army, so missed that.
I mean I look at similar sized clubs - Norwich, Southampton and Leicester (before Thai billions), they managed to maintain bigger gates even in League one. Granted a number of clubs have us and downs, but any loss of hope our fans seem...
I get this, I'm a big critic of the trust and sceptical of the consortium, but if they can get something going that the whole fan base can unite behind. I'd be more than happy to join.
ive no doubt that there's connected and intelligent people involved with this venture. I'm sure they can...
All have been shown to be ineffective and divisive. The trust and consortium need to sit down and come up with new creative ideas that the whole fan base can get behind
Thing is I find this hard to believe, we've only been a well supported club when we're doing we'll I'm convinced most people will find another reason when they leave.
Some Prem attendances were shocking, and I'm pretty sure we averaged about 14k throughout our championship year.
The Ricoh...
I'd keep and try and add 1 year to his contract with a sale clause if we don't get promoted.
I'd rather keep him than Bigi, Burge and Thomas 2bh.
Turnbull is likely to leave with that release clause in his contract
I think Blackburn have moved leagues since 2001 everytime we have aswell
They got promoted the year we got relegated, relegated to Championship when we did and this season.
It's just banter, I don't subscribe to this role model stuff. I liked Marlon King, i don't go round hitting women.
It's just words at the end of the day, people just try and get offended by anything these days
Nothing wrong with this, just one person giving stick and getting it back.
Never get why people get annoyed when the give the likes of say bothroyd stick and get offended when they get it back
Maybe they just don't want to sell the club? It's all good saying name your price, but if you don't want to sell you don't have to.
Also technically the club isn't losing money is it, the money that takes it to that point is creative accounting - I.e interest on loans to Arvo, management fees...
I got a free ticket once, watch wasps lose, and just couldn't get into the sport... and the crowd was too friendly, personally prefer the hostility in football
See I always preferred Hughes and later Clingan, they never ran round like headless chickens but were much better players. They liked the ball to their feet.
I always thought Doyle got away with a lot because he "gave 100%" without showing much ability
Is this still going on?
CCFC/Otium is property of SISU.
Nobody disputes that CCFC is the same as Otium.
CCFC/Otium is a separate entity, owned by SISU, not the same thing... key word being owned.
