Worst I've felt in nearly 50 years

The worst I felt was when Bantams (the Bants) as they were called then, was relegated from the Third Division (South) to form the new Fourth Division. Really happy days though as things got better from then on !!!!

For what it's worth, this is how I'd save Sky Blues.

It's obvious the kids are just not up to the rigours of Champioship football, so to "save" Sky Blues I'd:- Sell the players on high salaries Sell Juke I'd bring in 7 or 8 "old heads" who are nearing the end of their playing careers and leave the kids to gain from their knowledge and...

Clingan & Cranie Offered £8k A Week Deals

I couldn't agree more. Relegation might be painful, but we have the basis of starting strongly with experienced players (on£4k a week) who can help us rebuild -- a few older heads coming towards the end of their playing careers at a higher level, plus our existing talented youngsters -- and the...

Sky Blues stay up by default ?

Should Pompey and Bristol City go into administration (assuming Sky Blues don't) and have 10 - 20 points deducted, is it possible Sky Blues will stay up by default ?

Eastwood... time to give him a second chance ?

On his day, Freddy is possibly one of our most gifted players. Having been given a "wake up" call by AT's actions in recent weeks, anyone else think he should be given a second chance ?

    indian Ivestment!?!

Agreed, Kev Monks is a top guy --- he is Sky Blues from top to bottom and I have never known him speculate or take wild assumptions. He is respected by everyone at CCFC Ltd. His inside knowlwedge is second to none. +

A Saint Amongst Them: Coventry City

Jim Steele, ex Saints player and I believe part of the Saints Cup Final team, now runs the Black Bear pub where I live - Moreton in Marsh. PS -- I have a soft spot for Saints as well --- Admin, relegated to Div One and their history is not too different to Sky Blues in a lot of respects.

Atkins assessment for the game this Saturday

Reading Nigel Atkins assessment of his teams chances of winning on Saturday on Coventry Mad site is a prime example of a manager being tactically aware of how a team must play and adapt, before and during a game. Makes me wonder if our management staff has the same ability to think likewise ?

    Happy Days !

Some of the happiest days of my life as a CCFC suporter were when we were in the old Division 3 (South), Division 4 and then Division 3. Then, going to the game was fun. Should CCFC get relegated to Division 1 (used to be Div 3) then don't despair cos worries will be lifted and football will...

    Andy Thorn's Wimbledon days....

Absolutely !!! Stopper George was an inspiration ! We were winners because "We fought till the game was won" -- we were hard at the back. If we had that pasion today we would be near to the play offs regardless. Not world beaters, but fighters.

    Andy Thorn's Wimbledon days....

Remember the Wimbledon team ? Not much skill but they fought, had guts, played with pasion, yes and roughed it up a bit, never gave up, showed determination. That's what seems to be missing from Sky Blues -- bring back George Curtis !!!

    Inexperience excuse ? Doesn't wash !!!

Murphy, Wood, Cranie, McShefry, Bell, Clingan, Platt, Keogh, - non of these are "kids" - so to come out and blame inexperience is just bollox, I'm sorry. It's the MANAGER who is inexperienced! Likeable man, players love him cos he's one of the lads, got the the team playing pretty football...

    Thorn Out

I like Andy Thorn, got the team playing pretty football -- but that's about it. Where the "Crazy Gang" spirit from his days at Wimbledon ? That Wimbledon team were brutes to say the least. Remember Vinnie Jones ? They went in hard, chased every ball and tackled every tackle with passion. I...

    Platt

Most will not agree, but I thinkthat Platt in the middle knocking the ball down to either Juke or Cody (or back to mid-fielders) would make a big difference and not waste the countless centres from the wing we are putting accross at the moment. Maybe AT recommended Platt because I think his...

1- 3 to Sky Blues. Ipswich has a crap defence.

    George Hudson

I agree. Pure class ! Hero worshipped him. Agree, the best player ever to wear a Sky Blue shirt. Met him last year at a Legend's function - modest guy.

    Maybe a simplistic view but...

Not a bad view of the situation. I don't think SISU are the answer, but I'll wait and see.

    Be positive

We are on an unbeaten run ! Two games unbeaten ! As someone else posted, with a bit of luck we'd have had at least 10 points by now. Not all doom and gloom. The kids and Andy are doing OK

Is CCFC worth more than £1 ?

I'd like someone on the CCFC Board of Directors to explain why they value CCFC more than £1. Please justify ? In my opinion, it surely can't be - up to it's eyes in debt, no assets as such, losing money hand over fist..... (you could say the players are assets, but surely this no way clears the...
