    a) I mentioned previously that you might be correct on a legal basis Tony but there is no way we would’ve been allowed to have gone our own away on vaccines and delivered a successful roll out whilst other member states struggled. They are trying to stop this even though we’ve left FFS ! See the...

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

haha, I know you’re just poking a bit. My point has never been ‘just wait and see the economic benefits roll in’. It’s more ‘to compare trade (imports and exports) now a couple of months into a totally new trading relationship and in the middle of a pandemic is crazy’ (and disingenuous). There...

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

Ive explained the reasons why I’ve voted leave shmmeee, also that it was a toss up right up to the week of the vote. It ended up being more of an emotional decision after reading about previous referenda where countries had been forced to vote again or treaties were pushed through under a...

    School Protests

As the chat is still going I thought this might be an interesting read (sorry about the crumple, dug it out the recycling !). Whether people agree with Syed or not it’s a reasonably balanced article , highlighting that of course it’s important to respect people’s beliefs, however, in return...

To repeat again, I’m explaining what polling said were the main reasons why people voted leave. But in that answer (and video) you have just explained why many other people probably did. No understanding or appreciation as to people’s (who have a different life to you) genuine concerns. The...

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

Im not talking about who people listened to, I’m talking about the main reasons why people voted Leave. If by ‘racism’ you mean the UK having better control of their own immigration policy, yes, that was one of the top three reasons. so was believing that in remaining we would have little...

Feel free to hold them to account. However, you voted remain so ignored Davis, Fox etc. Im just saying for most people who voted leave it was pretty irrelevant what they said as well. A lot of leave voters recognised that there was likely to be at least a short term negative economic impact, the...

Its hard to disagree with this in theory but it wasn’t how the vote was proposed or happened. Also, in practice does it mean that all of UK vote on individual nations independence referenda ? or what happens if an individual nation (ie Scotland) voted for independence a year or two after a...

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

Maybe our recollections differ a bit (I sound like the queen !) but either way only a small minority voted leave for beneficial economic/trade reasons. While this was the main reason why people voted remain (quite rightly, concerns about the economic risks of leaving) it wasn’t the reason why...

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

It would be a shame (you know I’m a unionist) but ultimately we live in a democracy so if thats what countries want then whilst I don’t, so be it. Ireland was predicted to eventually become one due to birth rates and Scotland’s a 50/50. I’m not sure I could confidently say the EU will remain in...

Within a couple of months, come on mate. As I said it works both ways. House prices were due to drop by 25%, stock market collapse, food shortages etc etc. Now I’m not saying longer term that there won’t be economic impacts but it’s way too early to judge. I just think people seem to apply...

Bit soon to judge though Clint. If I was being argumentative (it’s Friday so the little grenade above is probably enough) Id say that the immediate project fear collapse of everything hasn’t happened either....however I also appreciate, it’s early days !

Great win. Didn’t expect that with bowling line up. Amazing innings from stokes (and Bairstow). Great to see Roy back on form this winter as well

Think the Jan figures were discussed a couple of pages back and most agreed that as it was the first month of trading with new paperwork (which caused both delays and led to many importers/exporters not risking getting stuck at port), the fact that companies had stockpiled in autumn/winter not...

I’ve heard nothing to say it will be law ie it would be landlord, club owners choice. After the shit 12+ months of trading I can’t see many wanting to risk losing custom but enforcing this. As mentioned earlier this feels like a nudge to try to get as many vaccinated as possible

It would be unfair. As I understand it they would only bring the passports in after every adult has been offered a vaccine so I’m guessing this might be more focussed on autumn period onwards. It feels like it’s a way of encouraging vaccine take up to me ps I personally can’t see why it should...

Think it’s with the EU/EMA Wingy https://www.fiercepharma.com/manufacturing/dutch-plant-at-heart-astrazeneca-s-euro-vaccine-row-could-soon-be-approved-report They’ll probably nab the Covax vaccines as well...and stick those in storage around Europe. Out of control ! 🤷‍♂️

yeah, weird comment as that’s my understanding as well. probably more of the story is who leaked it (typical Tories, someone’s probably not happy either because Johnson’s not releasing restrictions quickly enough for them, or not kicking off enough with the EU, so are spoiling for a fight and...

AZ mentioned their ‘U.K. supply chain’ is on schedule. Appears there was reliance on some coming from abroad (ties in with what BSB mentions as well). if there is a little concern about Pfizer and EU as well maybe they’re just ultra cautious (re:second doses of either jab)
