Whilst true, they've lost the best part of 40 goals in a team that netted 80 last season. Overall they have a great squad still but Watkins' and Benrahma's influence was huge and their departures will surely be felt this season.

    6 championship clubs need bailout

No they wouldn't because no club with half a brain would agree to that. It's pretty common for Premier League players to have clauses with relegation cuts in their contracts anyway. I think they usually range somewhat between 25% and 40% on average. Some are even higher.

Whilst I'm sure Nørgaard is probably of a higher quality, the affect he has on the team and (at times) the result, sounds a little like Liam Kelly for us. Some like to make preconceptions over whether he has the ability to step up to the plate this season, but in my opinion we're undoubtably a...

    6 championship clubs need bailout

Because it's a completely unpredictable and unsustainable market and you can't rely on generating multiple player sales every season. Well, we certainly couldn't when we were in the doldrums prior to Robins' arrival and our players were worth next to nothing. Nowadays though, it's probably a...

    6 championship clubs need bailout

If you read between the lines of both chairman's comments, they aren't particularly bothered about the Ts&Cs of the proposal, they just want the bailout as they don't believe there's an alternative.

    6 championship clubs need bailout

I don't know where this myth of the club being self sustaining has come from. Fisher's probably only ever truthful comment has always been that we'd only ever be self sufficient if we have a fairly significant player sale or two every season. Otherwise, we are entirely dependant on the owners.

    6 championship clubs need bailout

Thankfully, from recent conversations I've had with those within the club, we're not one of the six. It's more than likely it's those who have spent way beyond their means in recent years. If I had to guess Derby, Reading, Sheffield Wednesday, Birmingham, Preston could potentially be 5 of the...

Hopefully as the Benrahma saga is still ongoing he won't start. Apparently he's come to blows with Brentford over his potential move to West Ham so I'd be surprised if he did. That being said, they're not a one man team and have a good side. So, I expect this to be a really tough game. A draw...

    Ex Player Watch

From memory, one of his most infuriating habits on par with going missing for chunks of the game was his sheer reluctance to use his weak foot. If he was ever put through, or found himself in the box looking to get a shot away, the amount of times he would attempt to drag the ball back onto his...

    Ex Player Watch

Which is the sensible option. Like I said, without tarnishing all with the same brush, from my experience agents lower down the football pyramid aren't renowned for being too bright. To make matters worse they're becoming far younger and less experienced. Meaning that the above logic you aptly...

    Fresh Ricoh talks

I honestly don't think they ever had a business model. Their tactic of giving away thousands of free tickets in the hope that the recipients would convert into paying customers is possibly one of the most naive mistakes you can make in business. From the off they completely devalued their product.

    Ex Player Watch

The current situation is very much uncharted territory for agents as they've always been conditioned to try and get the best deal for their client. But in the current climate - especially for a player playing in League One - that is somewhere in between of difficult and nigh on impossible. So...

    Ex Player Watch

I suspect his wage demands are at the forefront of the issue. Most clubs will inevitably be running on fumes now, so his best chance of capitalising on interest was probably at the beginning of the window. Few clubs are going to be in a position to bolster their squads, certainly not with a...

    Would you have bright back?

The funny thing is, several fan bases and managers lauded Shipley last season and thought he was one of our standout players. It's funny how bias can distort perspective. Unfortunately, a section of fans are insistent on having a player to sling mud at season after season and can't see beyond...

    Loan Watch

Didn't we pay in excess of £100K for Williams? Presumably the bulk of which would be add-ons, but still... Quite a commitment considering we plucked him out of non-league. Pity that he hasn't progressed to the rate of which that was expected since we brought him in, as the club clearly had high...

    Would you have bright back?

And if my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle! The fact of the matter is he hasn't applied himself, and based on his current record it's looking increasingly likely that he won't at future clubs either. So, at this point his chances of making it even in the Championship aren't exactly promising.

    Shankland

£10m is a slight overestimation, no club in their right mind would've paid that for a 24 year old L1 CB with (at the time) one year left on his contract. But regardless, managers at higher up the footballing pyramid are always going to find unearthed talent plying their trade in leagues lower...

    Shankland

Disagree. I think you're giving the quality of the league far too much credit. For instance, the likes of Livingston, Hamliton, Ross County simply aren't comparable to top end league one clubs. You have Rangers and Celtic who are probably top end Championship, Aberdeen, Hibernian Kilmarnock...

I suspect these rumours have been generated by his agent as Dyche has already rubbished the links.
