    21/22 Summer transfer mega-thread

Against possibly Blackpool’s most skilful, dangerous player, Bowler - if someone snapped up Ohare (hopefully not) Id have a look at him. With hindsight it was an accident waiting to happen....i say with hindsight, I shit myself at the time

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

What I’m saying, if it’s a government decision to level up pensions with other countries that’s one thing, if it’s caused by a total unforeseen anomaly it’s another. Any decision to change the triple lock will hurt the Tories, as that’s more their voting base, they wont do it lightly.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

We’re potentially on the way towards recession at some point in the coming months, might not feel like that at the moment due to covid bounce back/gov support, but it’s a distinct possibility. Even if not there will be decisions people won’t like. If you put up personal taxes, it’s likely to...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Think it makes sense as a one off tweak. Wage growth is currently 7-8% due to Covid. Difficult to ask everyone to tighten belts and then increase pensions by that amount. It’s an anomaly year. As well as Brexit, think it was the social care proposal that did for May (an issue still to come for...

Trump is my favourite comedian of the year already

Yeah, I thought Bidens timetable was by early Sept (before 20th anniversary of 9/11) but troop withdrawal was accelerated. Googled and found articles confirming it US forces to withdraw from Afghanistan before Biden’s deadline Interesting article in New York Times (from May)...

Trump is my favourite comedian of the year already

Not compared to Trumps original exit date which has been mentioned several times was May but appears to have then rushed things through more recently ie I’m not sure there was much/any discussion around timing with allied forces. They’ve both got their prints all over this mess*. I agree 100%...

Trump is my favourite comedian of the year already

Yeah, I was reading over the weekend it’s one of the reasons Biden accelerated things recently ie well ahead of the midterms so it’s forgotten. I don’t think he expected this though I’ve avoided the thread as it’s such a complex area. It’s difficult to find a 100% right or wrong in it all I...

Just had this off a Blues mate ‘JCS is a quality player, great signing for you. Not top level but a class above some of the shit we both see. If he stays fit, you’ll love him.’ Let’s hope so !

    All purpose cricket thread

Real shame woakes wasn’t fit, very good record at Lords (and in England in general) Sam Curran’s had some decent matches at Test level but expected more of him yesterday....bit of swing, should’ve been right up his street. Jimmy delivers again. WTF are we going to do without him ?! Hopefully...

    21/22 Summer transfer mega-thread

Sorry, I wasn't clear. If I understood it correctly hes signed a one year deal so after a year on loan could just walk away next summer (and Brighton would just get tribunal fee due to his age) ?

    21/22 Summer transfer mega-thread

One thing I don’t get, unless I’ve misunderstood...he signed up for another year at Brighton, who I guess triggered option....but then left on season loan ?! What’s in it for Brighton ? Why not just let him go permanently now ? At worst they get a tribunal fee due to age. Have I missed something ?
