    21/22 Summer transfer mega-thread

I think it was around a month between his new contract and the appalling Rotherham game which was the beginning of the end for him but he played fairly regularly up until November time. Then he was bombed out.

He signed a new deal in September 2019. Pretty sure he was very much on form then. Seem to remember it was around November time that he dropped out of the side.

Not really as in that short period he let the league alight and looked a real player. Then his form just fell off a cliff.

It definitely would be four figures. If you listen to the Hard Truth Podcast the Bradford CEO was recently a guest and he stated that around £1k - £2k pw was the going rate in the division however there are that are a fair few that would be paid even above that. He actually mentioned they...

Seems a little hard to believe. I would've guessed £1000 - £1500 pw but Google says otherwise.

In fairness to Robins/Badlan, I perhaps understand more why 3 year deals were offered to Kastaneer and Jobello. League One isn't an overly attractive league for a foreign player to join and the money probably isn't much better therefore the club had to incentivise them. The fact they didn't...

The average wage in 3.Liga is also reportedly around 8000 euros a month on average which equates to roughly 1700 pw - which actually works out to be worse than the average wage in League Two. To think that players from such leagues wouldn't snap a hand off for a move to the Championship even if...

It's not for two years though. It'd be 3 if they actually perform well and become a credit to the squad. It's beyond entitlement if the likes of Hillsner believe they deserve more than that with their prior career and record, and it's horribly naive by the club if they're roped into meeting...

You're explaining things that don't need explaining. I simply don't agree with your view that the club were forced into giving players with very little prospects a 3-year deal when we're offering them a chance to play in a very sought after league. Delving into the theory of why we dipped into...

I'm afraid I don't agree at all. If the club are being forced into giving 3-year contracts to the aforementioned players bar Hamer then there's a fundamental flaw in their foreign recruitment policy. Especially when the players in question aren't particularly sought after. The Championship is...

Hamer was a proven emerging talent with clubs throughout Europe showing interest in him. So his contract length makes sense. Hillsner and Dacosta weren't and likely received little interest. The same applies to Jobello and Kastaneer. Just not sure why the club couldn't have just put them on 2...

Would you have Tom Bayliss back?

The recruitment that year was all over the place and the system was far too rigid. Asking players to play roles, positions that they were obviously uncomfortable playing in was also beyond strange.

    Missing : Bright

Robins isn't going to play him if he's not applying himself or if he's acting up. If he did that would open a complete can of worms, be detrimental to the team/results and likely cause a lot of unrest within the squad.

Hardly as it's a classic boy who cried wolf scenario. Can't really blame people for jumping the gun when he's reportedly previously lied about a family bereavement.

    Liam Kelly

Given how we play, with playing the ball far more on the deck and a reliance on our CMs to make driving runs as well as spraying the ball to our wing backs, I suspect Kelly will find it difficult getting back into the side. Even more so now Allen has found form. As much as I like him as a...

    QPR away

Certainly since relegation from the Championship in 2011-12 the staffing levels have always been threadbare. I think it's improved marginally but to my knowledge most of the staff still currently have two roles (one official and one unofficial) in order to spread the workload. As you say we're...

    21/22 Summer transfer mega-thread

Robins regularly alludes to the fact that the possibility of further signings depends on fringe/unwanted players being moved on. He's reiterated this in most, if not all transfer windows. I think that probably suggests the budget is fairly rigid and that there's little to no further support given.

The budget is still the budget though. It won't change regardless of whether Robins goes to Joy empty porridge bowl in hand or not. Not really sure how or why you're claiming otherwise.
