The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

Potential future markets. One less poor country and therefore potentially a problem in a Europe. There was a revolution there not so long ago. Peace and stability is better than, say, the iron curtain which cost a fortune as a „front line“ to defend in Europe. One reason the EU exsists is to...

Infrastructure and, if needed, ski resorts. We spend money on weapons which could fund other things we need. Investment in improving poorer parts of the EU is at least as important in ridding the continent of poverty and avoidance of war as weapon spending. It is only a small portion of gdp...

Britain contributes to funds which help the poorer regions. But, that is not why the NHS, schools or infrastructure is underfunded.

Not all, but a portion. It is not all about tourism. Example: The motorway from Bucarest links the Black Sea port of Constanta with the capital with a journey time of 2,5 hours. Good for the greater economy.

Building a motorway from Bucarest to the Black Sea, modernising the rail connections, funding the Românian tourist office to enable them to promote Romania as a tourist destination throughout the EU . All of which in return brings jobs and prosperity to a poorer region. But you slag it. „I‘m...

    Sisu

SISU will reappear at the next court hearing, but in the meantime we could be getting our first promotion in over 40 years. Enjoy. Plenty of time to slag SISU in the close season.

Of what? The US sub prime market in 2007 and 2008? Plenty of information out there. Also plenty of evidence of EU funding in tourism and infrastructure projects in Romania and Bulgaria. Google it.

Are you blaming Bulgaria for the problems of the UK? No, I don’t get that. Better talk to Hedge Fund owners about corporate greed. Rees Mogg would be a good place to start.

Where did I say that? I just mentioned an inconsistency in your posting.

2008 and 2009 were not the result of lax regulations in the EU except maybe in London. The US sub prime market is generally thought of as the cause. Yes, the recovery had a lot to do with EU solidarity through funding.

I thought investment and jobs were good things. You are right about corruption, but that has been endemic since the communist era. It has to be fought.

Yes. Technically you are right, but you are twisting the facts to suit your argument and your quote is from the unions who have an agenda. The reality is now and the last 5 years even if there was a big blip 10 years ago.

No, not in my area. We had the least AFD votes in the whole state in my area and I banned the Nazi football hooligans from my pub. So we are Nazi free... at the moment...

You chose 10 years, which is correct, but you forgot to except 2008 and 2009 where the weakest countries got hit the worst by the world recession. Apart from that Bulgaria, as an example, has seen continuous wage growth. As with all these recovering countries the wealth and wage growth is...

They are doing well as the EU has improved the EU. The % of „our money“ compared to our GDP funding Bulgaria is negligible. The more these countries grow, the better for us. Peace and prosperity in Europe benefits us immensely.

„Average net wages in Romania increased by a real 9.5% y/y in Q4 2017, according to bne IntelliNewscalculations based on statistics office data. Much slower rates are expected starting January 2018, after the government made broad income taxation and social security contribution reforms —...
