As there are only Thorn threads on the go at the moment ....

Guys I have to disagree. We seemed to play quite well and certainly kept the ball, played it around and added to Forest terrible frustration and lack in confidence. We turned up but we forgot how to turn the screw! Eventually we were undone by a pice of good fortune from a long run by an...

"Does he think stats get us points?" Like that.

    Andy Thorn

I agree Nick. The team is a reflection of your manager. That seems obvious from today.

    Andy Thorn

FFS Andy listen to yourself/ get angry for God sake! From what you are saying with 'don't know why they did that" then why did you not scream and shout instruction from the line and above all change it when you saw that? Pleeeease give me strength. "the players know that bla bla bla"...

    Hope is a fickle mistress

It will be interesting to see what Thorn says... he should have kept that 'Tuesday night' spirit going but while dominated the play today we did somehow lack a cutting edge to finish the job, like we simply thought we would win. Just wish we had an experienced manager who sounds like he means...

    Thorn Not To Blame

...there were plenty of long balls pumped to him and he was beaten to them nearly every time.

Why did anyone predict anything but a City defeat?

The law of averages and sods law says that will change Otis...so you can't just state that as read. Today that law of average should have changed without doubt. As you say we needed to go for the win....we seemed to glide around like it was our right to score eventually.....but we didn't.

    Thorn Not To Blame

I do blame Thorn here. Hoof up to Platt was not working all afternoon and he failed to change it? He seems to be hoping rather than directing what needs to happen.

Thank you Bechio and Warnock! among others...

.....just when we had a week that should have lifted our spirits high with a win and Pompey joining us down there we then blew it big time today! They knew they could have won today....they just needed a bit of guidance to get the job done. That is the coaching and management!

Why did anyone predict anything but a City defeat?

the question is why were we unable to go for the throat on a day we looked the better side until they got a goal from nowhere?

Why did anyone predict anything but a City defeat?

Otis if EVER there was a game where you would think a better manager may have made the difference then that was it!

    Delayed reactions

hand on heart I think we lost today because we have a manager unable to respond when needed. I also thought his tactics were off today but he saw it work against Leeds so went with it adding long balls up to Platt who had a shocker hardly ever winning in the air today. That was a sign to...

Why did anyone predict anything but a City defeat?

That's all very well Otis but lets be fair we had the momentum going into this game and Forest are a very poor side. We even showed we were better than them all over the park, yet frustratingly failed to create enough and get what looked at times an obvious goal. You could almost sense the home...

    Forest Match Thread

Looked offside to me/ Frustratingly we lose today having watched a Forest side clearly there for the taking, without confidence and we have simply persisted with long balls to the ineffectual Platt today and yet we looked like we could take them easily? In fact we look like we had a beer or two...

Obviously we will be better second half!

We always play one good half so I'm expecting we might come out firing now... Got to get Nimely on the ball and why is Platt no so effective today?

    Portsmouth- what on earth

Wrong? Don't see what you are driving at ? I'm aware 9 points were deducted in the premier league but what has that got to do with it? It's 9 in the prem because they play fewer games by the way. As for the 18 month rule that IS correct. The discretionary rule IS also correct. i doubt any...

    So who is nervous then?

Funny enough not nervous just looking forward to it. IF we win then it will be our first win away and the last league club to finally get it done. Law of average says it will come and I have a feeling after this last week and Pompey joining us down there that win is today!

    Portsmouth- what on earth

Not so. Twice within 18 months IS the rule for further punishment (i.e. points deducted or automatic relegation) The FA do not deduct points, it's the football league or the premier league authorities. Both have a working pact to act consistently. Pompey have put themselves into admin before...

    Portsmouth- what on earth

From what i have understood there will be a 10 point deduction. If they waited to go into admin in March then they would have had the 10 points deducted at the start of the next season. Had they gone into admin twice within 18 months the penalty would be more severe. The premier league and...
