Without knowing who else was available at what price how can you really assess whether it was a shrewd signing? And even if it wasn't, and I keep repeating this, no-one gets every signing right, no one. On the whole Robins recruitment has been decent.

I'm not sure I'd agree the bench was strong to be honest. We have 9 games between now and the end of February and I think it will really expose our lack of depth. If we are still in the playoff picture at the end of that run I'll be delighted and it will consiture another Robins miracle!
