Do you want to discuss boring politics?

This is why Tories should’ve waited until now for confidence vote

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

It’s obviously an assumption but based on human nature and the fact that every interview discussing the strike those supporting it (Lynch etc) have focussed on pay and the cost of living crisis. I then asked myself if the workers were offered an 8-10% pay rise would they be striking. I doubt it...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Not sure what I’ve made up ? I’m suggesting that I think the strikers are more concerned about their pay (which is their right and totally understandable especially at the moment) than about a better rail infrastructure and service for the public and that’s the main reason why they’re striking.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

My point being that if they got offered 10% they wouldn’t strike about the other stuff. When I said infrastructure i was talking about improving lines and services on them. I think the government (wrongly in my view - just for you BSB !) has pumped all that cash into HS2. HS2 or rail...

Think that was 2.7%. Not sure they were worth even that as many didn’t have to sit during the pandemic

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

I agree that any cuts when we should be spending more on public transport to encourage people off the road is crazy. I’ve never understood successive governments approaches…it’s all beat the driver rather than let’s make the alternatives better. This needs significant spending on infrastructure...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Haha, nothing to do with governments side, more sharing my views/thoughts even if it goes against the grain. I’ve offered what I thought would’ve been a sensible/fair solution and also what I think will happen and would take the piss (hardly supporting the governments stance in either case, more...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

It’s each to their own who they want to support. I don’t trust either side in terms of how they are presenting their case in the media. It’s also difficult to get a decent balanced article on the subject. Basic logic suggests, whatever rises rail workers receive is likely to feed through to an...

I think we agreed to disagree Fernando

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

you and tony are right (this once 😊), it’s almost not even a surprise, which in itself is a bit shocking. He just doesn’t think he needs to live by the same rules as everyone else In terms of Shapps, he can do a decent excel spreadsheet apparently The problem I’ve got with all ministers...

    Your Portfolio

Hard to disagree with you on the timing of rate rises, it’s awful, but interest rates should never be as low as they are. Its basically been free money, which has helped cause the housing bubble and fucked the market for younger generations. Central banks won’t be able to get rates too high as...

    Your Portfolio

It’s painful across the board at the moment, it feels like just trying to pick the least worst option. For example I expected gold to be increasing more by now and even that’s struggling to get to a decent level It’s more than a perfect storm; war, rampant inflation, growth already...

What the fuck has happened to England

I think we all saw that (also probably a bit drunk so can’t confirm). Southgate has got plenty on his plate now/coming months but I won’t dig him out for previous tournaments

What the fuck has happened to England

Exactly. Peoples views also soften and change. From memory Robson was getting vilified by many fans before (and at the start of) Italia 90 and now he will rightly go down as one of our best managers. We’ll all be looking back fondly at this time when Big Sam returns and we miss out on...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Haha…touché…not sure Jarvid expected that ! Streeting is a good operator and good communicator. Be interesting to see how he progresses Ps I don’t agree with the rail strikes though, just incase anyone thought I was going too soft on the lefties

What the fuck has happened to England

Would I have done something different, yes, would Southgate retrospectively, I guess so, however, when people judge managers they sometimes ignore what the opposition/opposition manager is doing and what our players were doing. Italy didnt just sit back and let us do what we want, they changed...

    Wasps downward spiral...

Haha, who knows ! The problem for Wasps is that the bond holders will want repaying as much of their cash as possible and have security over the stadium (I think), so whoever is dealing with the administration/liquidation will be expected to achieve best value for the stadium lease, which makes...

    Gyökeres Bids

I don’t doubt some of the info on here is very accurate but who really knows that type of information with any level of certainty. We don’t even know what his fee would be yet

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

I think that’s a bit OTT. The polling doesn’t explain why people might think one way or another. It could be misinformation/misunderstanding, it could be genuine belief that this might stop people traffickers (I personally doubt it), it could be that they haven’t seen anything else work so might...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

I’ve always found her manner condescending (like a lot of politicians…including her opposite number but probably worse), however, she’s a decent operator/communicator and was a good addition to shadow front bench.
