Not a Burge fan but the abuse he is getting is excessive based on his performances this season.

We have been poor, however the goal has woken us up slightly but they are getting their bodies in front of everything. McNulty has been non-existent, once again evidencing how desperately we need a winger. Can anyone guess our tactics other than ‘see what happens’ and ‘hide from the ball’?

Agreed, there’s a always a good choice in there. Great chilli nuts too! I usually also include Steamin Billies in my mini ale trail if I’m over that direction!

A few places just outside Coventry (but still with a CV postcode) that are well worth trying: San Giovannis Turpins The Book Barn (for breakfast/coffee) I’d also recommend a trip to Hinckley (bare with me), they have a newly developed area called the Crescent which has a decent choice of...

We go to the Greyhound before every home game for lunch and a few guest ales. The only downside is that it is often more enjoyable than the game itself!

Match Thread Accrington Stanley - Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 14th Oct

I’ve been saying since the first few games in; we’re so one dimensional tactically. We have one game plan: First Half - defend deep, don’t concede, pass to Jones and see if he can conjure anything on his own. Second Half - move further up the pitch, allow Kelly to play box to box, and pass to...

Match Thread Walsall - Coventry City Match Thread - Tuesday 3rd Oct

Good to get the win overall, although it's a shame it was through penalties so we didn't get the full points. However, it's especially pleasing considering the number of changes to the team and the amount of academy players on show. In my eyes it's further proof we have one of the strongest...

Match Thread Coventry City - Crewe Alexandra Match Thread - Saturday 30th Sep

The game seems to be passing DeKE by. We are picking it up a little though. Duck is more involved. Kelly has played well.

Grimmer gets skinned at least twice a game. He's very hit and miss. Not sure he's better than DKE.

Pick up the tempo and the game should easily be ours. We aren't playing particularly well and the tempo has dropped but they aren't threatening. I'd keep the team as if for now, but move everyone forward slightly and go attacking.

Match has gone flat. We are sitting quite deep, not sure why as they haven't offered much. Second goal would absolutely kill them off though.

Dominating and looking dangerous. Duck and Biamou look a look more dangerous than previous partnerships. Pace and power scares defenders. It helps that Crewe are woeful.

Match Thread Coventry City - Crewe Alexandra Match Thread - Saturday 30th Sep

I would keep the team as is. I've said it all season; pace in this league (and any to be fair) scares defenders, especially the poor quality ones we now face. DKE and Jones will scare them by their presence.

Match Thread Coventry City - Crewe Alexandra Match Thread - Saturday 30th Sep

Us to win and over 2.5 goals looks a decent bet, albeit only at 3/1. As is the way with Coventry fans we are extremes; both positive and negative. Saying that, it's justified today after two good wins, especially the manner in which we did so on Tuesday. I'll never forget the JPT game against...

    January transfer window

Let's hit a run of form and pick up some very impressive victories, despite having a number of first choice players out, but ignore that and create a unsubstantiated worry just to get cheap Anti SISU likes. Pathetic.

Match Thread Coventry City - Crewe Alexandra Match Thread - Saturday 30th Sep

To be fair, while it's still pretty low, the entertainment value has picked up a little the last few games. As you say though, I imagine Crewe will come to park the bus, so we need to be patient and hope Robins has plans a - e.

    Must Watch...

Yes I agree, it's brilliant to see. I noticed the same on Saturday when we scored the first, every outfield player sprinted to celebrate with Jones, it shows a great togetherness which is exactly what a promotion chasing team needs. I didn't get that feeling at all last year, where as this...

Match Thread Swindon Town - Coventry City Match Thread - Tuesday 26th Sep

What a difference supporting a winning team makes when at work. No annoying banter, no embarrassment at your team losing again at the weekend, no need to repeat the same excuses every week. And most importantly even more reason to tell the Wasps fans to sod off. Even if it only lasts a season...
