    Keogh - Overrated?

Indeed he has. That said it does not make him above criticism. Our fans dish out criticism to every other player and some get OTT abuse.

    Captain Craptastic...

You forget we were 2 up with a few minutes to go and mid table, late season, nothing to play for. No excuses

    Fixtures game by game

The game I fear most is the one where we have to win or draw to be safe. Let's hope it's not an away game.

    Captain Craptastic...

When a player is on a hat trick and the game is safe it is the done thing to allow the hat trickster to take it. Makes no odds that McSheff was pen taker normally, this was not a normal situation. McSheff should have done the right thing and let Stern take it. The fact that he did not...

    Keogh - Overrated?

No connection between the 2 things. My opinion is the same now as it was before. He is a good player but our fans tend to exaggerate his ability. Too many extremes, most of our players are mediocre or we wouldn't have kept them until now. Our best players we lose.

    Keogh - Overrated?

Yes but always escapes blame from our boss eyed fans... A bit of a pub player at times

    Captain Craptastic...

Was it selfish for glory? Or brave to take responsibility? OTT reaction. Penalties get missed. Meanwhile the defence escape blame AGAIN, despite 2 more bad goals against. Incidentally it was McSheff who took a penalty when Stern John was on a hat trick and we were 2 up a few minutes from...

    Team news

Otis, our wide players may well be the most lacking in the brains dept anyway. Do Baker or McSheff defend well? Do they make good use of possession? They do take up good positions but lack pace and crossing consistency. I would be willing to put Bell in at the expense of either Thomas or...

    Team news

Nah the midfield 4 move across as needed. Many teams set up like this away and have the outlet aerial ball to Platt or ground pass to Nimely who comes deep or pulls wide. The only flaw in my plan is it needs intelligent players who make the right decisions and make the run or thread the pass...

No flanks, you can set the 4 midfielders up in any order they feel most comfortable. All 4 can defend well. We simply chase and nullify...very negative but needs must... And let's face it our wide players are so ineffective over 90 minutes. Alf won the world cup without wingers! This formation...

No width, Otis. 2 banks of 4. Lump the ball up to Platt with Nimely getting the knock downs and Norwood and Deegan bombing forward. We play on the break. Worth a try...all else has failed away. PUSB

ST should go with 4-4-1-1 Pack the midfield with solidity, forget width, our crossing is poor, and leave Nimely to buzz around in the hole Murphy Christie Keogh Cranie Clarke Thomas Clingan Norwood Deegan Nimely Platt McSheff can come on...

THE BEST HEADER OF A BALL - Top 3 for CCFC 1967-2012 ???

Stein, Martin and Ferguson. Saw all of them play and these were the best...Cross a worthy runner up...Dublin was not in the same class. Defenders: Holton, Lloyd and Curtis How spoilt we were in the golden age of the 70s and 80s

    Home and Away

Tell the players it's a home match Get them to report to the Ricoh at normal time Blindfold & headphone them all Tell them they are being placed in a "coffin" like new fangled muscle relaxer Put them into coffin-like objects Whisk them to the away game in helicopters Decorate the away dressing...

    RATINGS FOLKS V Barnsley

Keogh is player of the year and he has played well in most games, but he is over-praised for this, as he has been the best of a bad bunch. I'm dreading the time he gets caught in possession and costs us a goal, which looks likely as he takes too many risks at times...many close shaves recently...

    RATINGS FOLKS V Barnsley

Keogh and Cranie had virtually nothing to do. When they did receive the ball (usually kicked straight to them from a Barnsley error) both were able to bring the ball forward unchallenged as the opposition retreated. Their distribution was often poor or hoof. Thus both can get 6, or 7 if you...

Remaining home games ALL look winnable

It seems to me that very few fans are saying we WILL stay up but lots are stating we WILL go down. Therefore the latter are the ones who are not really being logical. As it stands we probably have a 50:50 chance of survival based on: 1) we have collected more points in the last 10 games than...

    Thorn's Midfield Headache

How many goals has Clingan cost? Facts please. How does this compare to every other midfielder or defender? Harshly treated in my view. The last game we won with Clingan in the team was Boro...also the last game we won with Thomas in the team.

25 more points needed to stay up, can we do it?

2 important points, 1) 7 home games left, not 6 as a few are stating. 2) Past totals have nothing to do with this season, especially as Pompey's 10 point deduction comes into play AND they may be docked more or be wound up and then only 2 will drop. The chances of safety being 50 points are...
