So much space down our left hand side, the issue is Mason is isolated when he gets it. The one time Hiwula is there and runs at them, we win a penalty. Not sure on Bakayoko yet, his movement at times is good, but other times he seems to make the wrong move or does it too late. It’s obviously...

Penalty won by Hiwula and scored by Bakayoko. Bloody shit signings.

Mason has lot of the ball but he has limited options, as Hiwula is playing very centrally, he’s drifting off his wing a lot. Probably because he isn’t a winger.

As I said he’s not a good footballer but when he doesn’t play, we miss the other elements he adds. If Ogogo (or Kelly) can take on that mantle then that would be ideal.

Doyle might not be good at football, but he’s a great leader on the pitch. He’s is the refs ear and winding their players up constantly, which is what we want. Mason is seeing a lot of the ball, but he’s a little isolated each time.

We’re actually trying to play football!!!! What’s happening. I give it 10 minutes.

No JCH again? Not a bad thing as he’s a waste of a sub, but it raises questions as to why we signed him. Hopefully it’s a catalyst to re start his career.

Same formation I suggested and was ridiculed for, but I agree we have to go attacking and it accommodates our two most creative players in their favoured positions.

Yep, as I said it’s fairly unique, but so was Southgates formation at the WC and this isn’t too dissimilar. We have a plethora of attackers, why not use them? Technically Bayliss and Andreu are better than L1, what other formation plays them in their favoured positions? Defenders at every level...

I am in the same boat as the majority of fans on here and more worrying MR; no idea what the best formation or team is for tomorrow. We signed a lot of player with pace, so it makes sense to use them. In addition, Bayliss and Andreu are our two most creative players, so I understand the desire...

    Fighting at HT

Pathetic. Whatever the reason or situation, fighting between fans at a football stadium is embarrassing. It has the potential to ruin the experience for many, especially those there with their family.

Conor Chaplin - Signing Confirmed (Finally!)

It’s a good point, as if we stick to the formation we currently have we’d have four strikers (five including Ponticelli) vying for one position. If we play him out wide, then one of Bayliss, Hiwula and Jones potentially wouldn’t. So either we’re changing to accommodate two up front or we’re...

    Brandon Mason

He looked nervous yesterday and his distribution was poor, especially in the first half. However it did improve as the game went on. Defensively he was solid, he seemed to get under people and I don’t remember him being beat on the ground. He has pace too which is a bonus for a defender...

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, especially when it comes to football, but some of the comments in here are a little exaggerated. I’m incredibly frustrated we lost yesterday, but there are certainly positives to take from it: Ogogo looks a great acquisition, he’s not a game changer...

Their centre backs don’t like being turned, we should try and exploit that more with our pace. Slightly concerned we look a little tired.

Match Thread Coventry City vs Scunthorpe United Match Thread - Saturday 4th Aug

Encouraging signs in the first half. Bayliss, Andreu and Ogogo standing out so far. If the former two can link together more then they will be too good for a lot of L1 defenders. Biamou’s link play is good as always, but we need the wingers to be pushing on more so there are players running...
