The strikers have to make the runs and find space before we give the ball to them from other areas. Otherwise they just lose it as has happened to often. I wouldn’t keep lumping Godden in with Wright and Simms either, he’s scored and created,?whereas they have looked fairly toothless and clumsy.

There can be a bit of an obsession in England with thinking so many goals have to come from a cross from the by line. I think it’s a bit old hat these days. Good passing and movement and strength and speed through the middle is often more effective.

That is very true, Vik would somehow get on the end of almost everything.

Really good performance and ultimately good result……we are just a decent striker away from being complete. Simms wasn’t on long enough to be too harsh but Wright was exasperating. Our passing and movement was excellent for the most part, we’ve got some good players for sure but every successful...
