Match Thread Coventry City - Birmingham City Match Thread - Saturday 27th Sep

His energy today was infectious and set the tone for the high press. How some of our fanbase don't rate him and think he would be an easy player to replace is just laughable

Torp can play 10 but I think he suits the role between Grimes and whoever plays 10 .

Match Thread Coventry City - Birmingham City Match Thread - Saturday 27th Sep

Eccles played a lot higher back end of last season. At the end of the game today him and Lampard were laughing and joking as they made there way over to the fans . I think Lampard sees him as a very important member of the squad and one he can keep improving

    My take on the window

I can only imagine the joy among our fanbase if just two of those started None are good enough now for where we want to be

    My take on the window

We were interested in Woolfenden way before Hughes , in fact the Hughes interest started around the time the Thomas bid came in. And did we ever bid for Nielsen? You're grasping now to make your point

    Were are we now?

Eccles for me is a prominent part , I think this season he will flourish. Simms is still a decent back up number 9 .The rest named are now second or third choice which means we have progressed

    Were are we now?

Didn't say you hate , said he does . Anyhows , yes we did however this summer for me Brum and Wrexham have fucked the rest ofthe league over with their grossly inflated fees . We had to lose one player ,most of us agreed that at the start of the summer . I'm happy MvE has stayed , not too...

Both have been goalscorers in this league in the recent past

Sakamoto did alright off the bench on Saturday?

    Were are we now?

Agreed . The league looks very open this season . We will have a big say in the January window if we need to A lot of posters seem to forget we are in a far better place as a club than the majority of the Championship

    Were are we now?

I disagree, I think Lampard rates Eccles . Time will tell

    Were are we now?

Think that was nonsense to be honest , Viveash going to Boro and Robins to Stoke made people assume he would be off to one of them . After DaSilva I would say Eccles was the biggest improver under Lampard last season. He seemed to play more as an 8 when Torp was out and seemed to thrive . Eccles...

Which half ? Only Simms seems on the periphery

    Were are we now?

Was talking to my work colleague today , Leicester season ticket holder, and he blames Birmingham and Wrexham for inflating the fees this summer. And he would be happy for Leicester to consolidate this season

    Were are we now?

Agreed . Blues worry me as if they are anywhere near then they will throw money at promotion in January . I genuinely think this year is wide open

    Were are we now?

If you think that Rapha was that player then I would disagree, he showed glimpses against a league 1 reserve side but would you trust him to do it consistently?

    Were are we now?

With the strengthening of the back line i don't think we will be 1-0 down too often once we eliminate the stupid fouls/mistakes Just an question for you , who do you see as the 2-3 outstanding teams this season who are nailed on to be pushing for the autos?

Would've liked to have seen one of either Allen ,Bidwell or Lati moved on but did we have any takers ?
