Poor poor game. Why are we sitting so deep? Giving the way too much respect. Ogogo/Doyle is not a midfield combination that works as part of a four. We have zero attacking impetus and there’s nobody on the bench to change that as it’s through the middle we need to sort.

If we step up the tempo and are more direct I think we’ll break them down. They have one tactic; long ball, especially on the diagonal, which we are dealing with well on the whole. However, we aren’t playing particularly well. Too many anonymous performances and a lack of intent. JCH is...

We are sitting too deep. If we are more attacking like last week we’d cause them problems, they’re ponderous at the back. No idea why Ogogo is ahead of Kelly, and I’m not even his biggest fan.

Really poor game so far. We’re missing someone in midfield who can get on the ball and dictate. We need to use our pace more.

He’s the new Biamou.* *to be fair it was an awful miss.

Not based on today. Long ball every single time. We’re coping with it well though.

Basically their a big physical team who love a long ball, don’t look too technical and don’t like pace against them. Perfect situation for Thomas and Hiwula to cause them issues. Ogogo has been anonymous thus far.

I was confident, but the line up has dissipated that somewhat.

Has it been officially confirmed? What’s the bench? If it is Ogogo, we’re missing attacking drive from the middle. When we took Bayliss out off last week, we missed an outlet through the middle. Interesting to see how it plays out and if MR’s logic is clear.

Tweet won’t load. If those changes are right, that’s bizzare.

Absolutely believe we will win, why would we not be confident? I’ve said all season we have technically superior players and we have subsequently added pace too. Add to that, MR is allowing us to play more offensively, and we really are a force in this league. 2-1 City

    Player Ratings

Burge - 6.5 - solid enough and I’m definitely more confident with him in goal than I have been in previous years. His out of hand especially, was poor though. Sterling - 7 - continues to improve his attacking side by offering an outlet more and more, it’s evident his confidence is improving...

Two easy chances missed. We’re playing well. Fantastic from Thomas - well deserved. At times our interchanges are fantastic. We’ve got technically superior players and we are finally using them to play football. Great togetherness after the goal - he ran straight to MR.

Thomas looks really good, really not sure why anyone ever doubted him. Doncaster looking to time waste as much as they can. They are quite a dirty team as well.

Really not sure about Brown. We look full of confidence though; everyone wants the ball, we are looking to attack quickly and play football. They do look ropey at the back. Our pace definitely worries them.

Just returning from a holiday. Currently sat at the airport with the post holiday blues kicking in, let’s hope the Sky Blues can cheer me up!

Did he? Apologies, I missed that if so. Brown has steadily improved but hes not the stand out I expected based on Shrewsbury fans calling him the best LB in L1. Hopefully he’ll get there as his match sharpness improves. I do think Mason is stronger defensively though.

Land at Birmingham airport at 12:30 and then it’s straight to the Ricoh. Really looking forward to the game, we are playing with increased confidence and have two attacking wingers makes a real positive difference in our style of play. Any news on Mason? I’m still a little unsure on Brown, he...

I’m feeling confident. Hiwula and Thomas to cause constant issues on their respective wings, while Chaplin will score two, which will kickstart a real scoring streak. Let’s hope MR allows us to attack and take advantage of their lack of confidence and I’d assume nervous (and potentially...

Keep as we are and I think it’ll come. They’ve offered little and have the inevitable one attacking tactic. Plus loads of time wasting. Hiwula looks good and Thomas has the beating of his man with absolute ease. We need to use them more and hope JCH/Chaplin can capitalise on a chance. Bayliss...
