    Hull or Man Utd

Exactly this. I also reckon there’d be some pretty miffed fans if we rock up to Wembley with some of our best players ‘rested’. As it is, I was think that one silver lining for Palmer being banned is that he will be fresh for the next game.

Trump is my favourite comedian of the year already

I was just about to say the same. He’s a fucking sociopathic idiot who was gifted lots of money at birth, and was lucky enough that when all his investments failed it would’ve cost too many people too much money to let him go bust. Having said this in the snippets I’ve heard, I imagine his...

    The holiday 2023 thread

Yeah, just round the corner really. I’ve been to watch them and HSV before but we’ll try and find a bar for the game. I really like Hamburg. It’s massive. My Mrs and I sat on the beach when we went last year!

    The holiday 2023 thread

Got my first ever ‘lads’ holiday coming up, with 4 blokes from my old football team. I’ve managed to avoid all previous excursions. We’re off to Hamburg, to coincide with St Pauli vs Hamburg match. They regularly go away together, sometimes more mob handed. I think I’ve only been invited...

    Our wonderful Skyblue World

I was reading an article about Jack Burroughs last night in the Cov Tel. Sounds like EMC could be quite some addition for us…and that Burroughs himself could feature a bit next season. He suggested he’s been playing LWB predominantly.

    Things that annoy you

I’ll see your whooping at gigs and raise you talking loudly in cafes. Specifically the very posh/middle class young woman holding court with her fellow diners about the Seychelles, someone she knows from Malta…”he’s a dentist, no he’s a surgeon”…, a renovation project that her mum and Dad had...

    Comedians

I did see Henning Wehn twice. First time he was great, second time was just after lockdown and, for me, it wasn’t all that. He repeated a lot of his routine and I didn’t find the new bits particularly funny. You’re lucky to have such a good comedy scene. Based in Cardiff the main venue tends to...

From the little bits I’ve seen of RDH I really like him and should try and get to see him. Is Al Murray still the Pub Landlord or is he doing other stuff?

    Comedians

I’ll get involved then… Prior to seeing Miles Jupp I saw Rich Hall. I think he’s fantastic. He also sometimes appears 2nd half as his alter-ego, Otis Lee Crenshaw, which is a real treat! Next up is Ed Gamble. I’m really looking forward to it. Not someone I would’ve thought I’d like that much...

    Comedians

Yeah, I was saying that yesterday. It started with a sort of tribute to Barry Cryer, each panellist taking it in turns to tell one of his jokes…some of them I’d heard before but still great. The one about a parrot that had been rescued from a brothel… Jeremy Hardy was also mentioned and got a...

    Comedians

The panel was Rory Bremner, Marcus Brigstock, Pippa Evans and Tony Hawkes…with Colin Sell accompanying on piano. The 2nd half was Swanny Kazoo heavy. Great fun.

Went to see ‘I’m Sorry I Haven’t a Clue’ in Bristol yesterday. Not sure I’ve ever laughed so much in one sitting. Really daft but can’t recommend it enough.

Bruno Fernandes - how the other half live !

I went to watch Wales vs Denmark a few years back. It’s the only time ive been at a game where there’s been a standing ovation for a foul. It was in retaliation for a pretty bad foul by a Danish player. It felt like the whole crowd stood up to applaud.

    My favourite goal

I mean, I agree with all the ones already said here. So just to be different… Not that I can particularly remember them but the goals that made it 3, then 4, then 5-1 vs Liverpool. I remember it just felt like we’d all gone mad and were witnessing a miracle.

    My favourite goal

I celebrated so hard I literally fell over on the living room floor. This was made worse because I wasn’t even in my house. It was someone else’s living room floor.

    Points deductions

I’ve never really seen much trouble at games tbh even in the 80s & 90s. I remember Liverpool pelting the kop with stones/coins after we beat them 1-0, and Swindon bringing about 50 Nazis with them but nothing of note…I wasn’t at that Pompey game. I guess I’ve been lucky…and with away games too...

    Robins celebration

Not much more to say really (but that’s not gonna stop me), other than the responses from my football team on Sunday was basically “good on him”, Robins that is. Some said he should have gone further and given him a boot! I wasn’t sure how serious this was!! But that did get me thinking, didn’t...
