Positive News for the Academy - Wasps pull out of Higgs

I do find the extension too cheap but the cost was £20M for the first 46 odd years, which wasn't cheap considering they bought an enterprise that makes a loss (or a very small profit).

Positive News for the Academy - Wasps pull out of Higgs

Not only that but the lease situation only arose because the club screwed up finances on the original project and the council financed its completion. In hindsight they should have let the club manage the situation on their own, as I hope they will do with Wasps if they've got themselves in...

    Things that annoy you

F88K OFF YOU AHOLE. :emoji_blush: Actually I'm left handed & I hold knife & fork the conventional way but spoons in my left, so always try to sit at left end of table or I stand to have elbow bashing contest with person on my left eating soup course, endless fun.

So who paid for this refurb? I think Hilton probably have a licence to run it & pay Wasps for the privilege. https://www.thecaterer.com/articles/363797/doubletree-by-hilton-opens-in-coventry Doubletree hotel opens at the Ricoh Arena

LOL, I might have missed that, don't always look at what Mr G has to say, so much of it is cobblers. I do believe Wasps managed to get Hilton to put some money into the Arena to revamp the hotel, but no new building/jobs as such.

    Butts Park ruled out

I'd make them a decent offer conditional on dropping the actions but let City stay even if they didn't as kicking City out may well have negative consequences for Wasps in the PR game. However in the event the actions continue I'd require a much increased rent including a contingency to cover...

Always seemed clear to me, he wants a ground suitable for Cov Rugby, something like 8-6K capacity with some money making leisure facilities built in. Why would he want much more than that unless Cov's circumstances change drastically.

I think they spent some money on pitch improvements. Amusingly there are rumours of Wasps players becoming pissed off by having to change in portacabins at their Broadstreet facility. DrunkenWasps.com - Training Base

Parents to pay for kids' pens in Theresa May's constituency

When did schools ever provide pens? Some (if not all) stationary yes, text books yes (do students even use text books any more?) but not pens. I'm sure any enterprising parent can acquire what's needed from their workplace :emoji_santa:

You need have no worries on that score, if SISU go they'll be able to sell to Hoffman's consortium and even if they don't like the price they'll take it.

Heading a football causes dementia and should be banned?

Dawn Astle's interview with Shearer was very moving.

They screwed up on the interest they pay, the bond was over subscribed so I believe they could have got away with a 5% rate. If interest rates go up substantially in the next few years refinancing that bond is going to be 'challenging'.

Good enough for Conference football too, but sub standard for League football.

No one would buy it with that debt, but there will be plenty of vultures out there waiting for an administration where they can offer a small percentage of that, I wonder if that might just include SISU?

Surely Joy wants an exit strategy that entails her getting her clients money back at the very least, what's that in the region of £25M? Can't see how she can do it unless the arena is acquired or she swings a deal to build a new one with a significant amount of bolted on housing. Going round in...
