Ambitious from simms. Just think it’s been a nervy debut. 22 year old lad, big fee. Think he’ll come good

Not a bad half that. Bit sloppy in patches which is expected first game back but considering opposition can’t complain

Backs against the wall. Two CFs and Palmer means we’re getting a bit overrun

Are we playing a game of let’s start as few of the new signings as possible ?! Not much pace there

    Hamer

Sounds about right/fair. Love Hamer as a player but I’d he wants to go then let’s get good money and move on. I’d personally even take say £8m plus add ons if necessary even though I think he’s worth more. Less than that probably gamble and keep

    Boxing 2023

Fuming on behalf of all the people with tickets, paid for hotels and booked trains….boxing innit 🤷‍♂️ Ps I’ve never been a fan of Jake Paul but the new Untold doc on Netflix is worth a watch

    Hamer

To be honest if his minds made up I want to see as much of this as possible to whip up interest. Hoping Fulham pull their fingers out and slap in a great offer we can’t refuse

Oil and gas will be needed for a while yet. Problem is it just gets sold on the wholesale market so I’m not sure we’re going to directly benefit much. The alternative at the moment and for a while is buying LNG/fracked gas from USA or elsewhere…not sure that’s better 🤷‍♂️ In more positive news...

Yeah, it’s a major problem but recent yen issues is due to debt to gdp of 250%, everyone else has had to suck up higher interest rates to get inflation down. Japan can’t do this as debt servicing costs (and in turn debt) will spiral, so central bank/government have carried on buying bonds (I...

Energy was the main initial driver for most of the other big jumps this instance*. Energy is higher so it costs more to run machines to make stuff (food, products etc), transport it etc. Due to climate I guess they can grow more than us without additional heat/light costs involved. Then if...

This is what’s happened to Japanese yen in last five years. Bearing in mind the pounds been weak post brexit. Also put dollar/yen for comparison. Basically their currency has been debasing due to policy/printing (sure there’s other stuff as well)

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Yeah, 250% and there could be trouble ahead. They’ve been artificially suppressing rates (which they’d pay on debt) with central bank bond buying but the system is creaking due to inflation. They can’t raise rates because if they do debt will spiral further out of control. Most of the West have...

Yep, agree, fair enough. I’m aware of us hitting 100%, people were up in arms about it, which is why I’ve flagged gdp/debt ratio on US thread and here as it’s one of the considerations together with inflation, unemployment etc. The main point was that the latest guardian article held Spain out...

Yeah, they did and successfully to be fair. However, the main driver for inflation was energy and they have kept the cost to government as low as possible…. https://www.reuters.com/business/energy/spanish-imports-russian-gas-jump-may-nearly-28-total-2023-07-10/...
