Anyone else dreading the BBC classic remakes?

Well, I can emphasise with that, Daz. I liked it, but never got all the adulation it received. I didn't find it that funny, but I did find it warm and fuzzy. Sort of smiled rather than laughed. Against though, some characters only seem to be there to deliver a catchphrase and nothing else, or...

Anyone else dreading the BBC classic remakes?

Yeah, I can bet. Always feel with so much of Perry and Croft though the plotline seems to just encourage the script along in order to get to the next catchphrase.

Anyone else dreading the BBC classic remakes?

Yep. Was a big fault with Dad's Army too, but they still managed to pull it off and the playing off of Wilson against Mainwaring worked so well and the nostalgia of it all with the harking back to the war brought into into people's hearts too I think. Never watched any of the early Allo Allo so...

    Season tickets?

I thought it, but decided against it. Happy to hand over the mantle. :)

Anyone else dreading the BBC classic remakes?

I agree how it captured the department store and the class system, but not sure I agree on the character development. Found many of the characters such as Mrs. Slocombe, Mr. Humphries and Capt. Peacock all very, very one dimensional, personally. Do have to say though, I am not a big fan of...

What do you think is the end game ?

Well yep, that's my thinking. The club has little or no real value and it is all about the value Sisu put on it in order for them to leave. They must be getting pee'd off still being here surely. It's an investment that failed. What is the point of just drifting along? Surely if someone...

Anyone else dreading the BBC classic remakes?

Just had a quick look and it seems the BBC didn't keep any of the stuff he did, so it is lost forever. Wasn't he a bit of a one liner wordsmith?

Anyone else dreading the BBC classic remakes?

Yes. But I haven't seen him since I was a child. Did think he was funny way back when. What are your thoughts BBR?

What do you think is the end game ?

Not the question though, Nick. :) Didn't they say a silly figure between 40m and 60m when talking about our worth some years back? How much, if someone offered them hard cash, would be enough for them to leave? :)

What do you think is the end game ?

If a mug like me won the Euro Millions, just how much do you think it would take for Sisu to bugger off? Serious question, if someone with a love for the club, with a big wad of money, or anyone else for that matter, wanted to buy them out how much do you think? I know silly figures have been...

Anyone else dreading the BBC classic remakes?

Yep. I used to like it when I was a child, but now looking back on it I now think it was quite dreadful. The same joke about Mrs. Slocombe's pussy and loads of queer jokes at the expense of John Inman every week.

Yeah, that's what I was saying too. Wasn't making fun of her, just that on first viewing she looked just like a bloke. Fair play to her too for not covering her head with a rugby head guard, which she could quite easily do to hide her condition. Hope she's not on Twitter though. :(
