Match Thread Coventry City vs. Bolton Wanderers Match Thread - Saturday 8th Feb

Goodness me, some incredibly embarrassing posts on this thread. I genuinely don’t understand why some people support us. This season has shown it more than any other, as we’re doing well and people are still looking for ways to moan. Yes, we were poor today, but we won. We’ve also played...

Well done Baka! Interesting descriptions of the goal - still a few reluctant to give credit. Dabo is a real class act. If he was slightly younger he’d definitely have had more interest in Jan.

Agreed - it has to be the most technical midfield in L1 by some way. If Bakayoko plays anywhere near the levels of Tuesday and shows the same link play and movement, I’m confident we’ll score a few.

Several posters have beat me to the punch and comprehensively answered this already.

I also hope we have more fans tomorrow, but we all know we’re hoping in vain. It’s a shame. Of course people have a choice but unfortunately a lot of people are opting for the wrong one.

    Call it now

First. If you can’t see how good we are, even with a lack of a clinical striker, you’re either oblivious or have been a Coventry fan too long and on default pessimism mode! Tongue in cheek aside, this squad is more than capable of finishing in the autos and anything less will be incredibly...

Hopefully he sticks with the two up front, it was extremely effective on Tuesday and in theory should be more so on Saturday (granted theory doesn’t always match reality). If he does play two, it’s deciding which! Baka and Biamou deserve to start again, but Biamou played 120 minutes so it’ll...

I think the opposite; naturally they’ll be disappointed to lose, but they should take confidence from outperforming a Championship team. We also lost on penalties, which while shit, is a lot better than being outplayed/thrashed in open play. Genuinely think they’ll be proud of themselves and...

Frustrating game to score as we played fantastically against a team in the league above, so a bit of context needed Marosi - 7 - was actually better off his line than he has been in a while, when he actually came for it. I also thought his long range kicking was poor. Great save when they were...

Godden was poor tonight, I don’t think anyone can make an argument otherwise. I genuinely can’t think of one positive contribution. As I’ve said a few times, I’m not writing him off. Maybe he isn’t fit yet? But whatever the reason, he looked miles off where he needs to be tonight. Baka on the...

    Match Thread Birmingham match thread

There are a few strong reactions on here tonight but that’s completely understandable. I note a lot of people weren’t there, no issue with that, but tonight was one of those where the disappointment was 10 times worse in person. The commentary won’t have done justice for how well we performed...

    Match Thread Birmingham match thread

You love a misdirection. What has our other strikers got to do with him having zero attributes? And as I also said, I’m not writing him off as his career and the consecutive hat tricks suggest he must have something about him. But so far I’m struggling to see what that is. Not sure if you...

Their fans have all ran around behind where the pens are being taken. Surely the ref/police need to make a call.

Feels like a loss. We absolutely deserve the win. Whatever happened we’ve proved we are a very strong team. I fucking hate pens.

Godden has zero attributes. Not writing him off, but he really was not a good option tonight. He was just put through and his lack of pace was appalling.

People suggesting Jones for his pace - I get it but who for? Godden is the weak link (by far) and he won’t sub a sub. Allen and O’Hare are fresh and lively while we beer Biamou as an outlet.

Not read any of the last few pages, but essentially that is completely our own fault. At least THREE clear cut chances. And they really were easy. They had one and scored. Worried about the strike force now, Baka had cramp so had to go off, but (and I don’t want to jump on the bandwagon) Godden...

Absolute sitter Westbrooke. Absolute sitter Biamou. Fantastic play from BAKAYOKO for both. He’s still shit though of course.
