    FA allows sex discrimination

Although it's interesting it's all beside the point for me and a distraction. If transgender MTF becomes as weak as a kitten it matters not. Sport has sex categories. I trust the two best known British biologists, Robert Winston and Richard Dawkins, who assert that Humans cannot change sex.

Read that review. A young journalist with a bias. Perfectly acceptable but one-sided.

    FA allows sex discrimination

It's mainly anecdotal. What's Joanna Harper's claim that she is 12 per cent slower based on? Who has verified this? Where are the peer reviewed studies that these doctors are referring to when making assertions that these differences are minor? It's anecdotal which is useful, but never...

    FA allows sex discrimination

The article seems to argue that a modified biological male, who now identifies as a woman, is so nearly the same as a biological female that it matters not, let 'em play. It cherry picks medical data about individuals and then generalises to conclude these differences are teeny weeny. It throws...

Those other issues do concern me but they are all contingent on the women's category being respected

No that's not the case. I started the thread as I shared a news article which raised this particular issue.

    FA allows sex discrimination

This is a Football and other Sports board. Why would I raise other issues? If it isn't black and white there's no need for a women's category at all. Which is exactly where this could lead - a Men's category and a Mixed category. The Women's category will be open to everyone.

Just to add I have been in some scrapes with women too. But they were as different as night from day.

    - 64 years of experience living in a small female body - I have been sexually assaulted several times by males, including twice inside Highfield road stadium when I was pinned against some railings. - I have been punched by a male outside Highfield rd. - I have been pushed and threatened several...

You can decide for yourself that other issues are more important but not what I should focus on. "Look over there". You can suggest that since I haven't started a thread about a,b,y and z issues then I don't care about them. Whataboutery. You are free to minimise the issue or say it's not a...

    FA allows sex discrimination

I have never, and would never, report someone for not looking feminine enough. I would probably only report someone who I was fairly certain is a male and in a changing room and not in a public toilet.

The same way as for the last century. Most facilities are managed. Report your concerns and get branded a "Karen"

    FA allows sex discrimination

I am not concerned that transwomen pose a danger in women's spaces. That is really not the issue for me. I don't want male bodies in women's facilities as they don't belong there. Note - difficult to be precise but best estimates indicate only around 5 per cent of transgender MTF have the...

I don't think we're going to agree on this but I think the Equality Act does provide some protections to individuals in nine protected characteristics but these are limited and have exemptions. As I said these are being tested in law and being "misgendered" can only be used as an aggravating...

Have read back my posts and struggled to find any example of me specifically calling trans women "men".

Don't think so. This is a disputed area of law. It is being tested in many cases and tribunals as we speak. The EA (2010) is in need of clarification as you will know if you follow the news.

Yes it is wrong if your aim is then to shame them into "be kind", just let them, how they have suffered, don't be mean ... My sympathy is mainly for the women and girls who have only just got some opportunities to play sport, to make a career in it, to have some success, medals, rewards etc...

    FA allows sex discrimination

I see what you're saying but language matters. If calling a transgender male a woman is just being polite then not many people care. But if it leads to the expectation that she/they/he can access everything women have then No.

    FA allows sex discrimination

Duffer I fully accept that there are a small number of transgender people (male) who may wish to play in the women's game. This matters not. Even one is a category breach. Women have long campaigned for their own stuff and it must be protected. Would you have allowed Pistorius to run with his...
